Tiffin Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Port Alberni

We were looking for a good home to eat near Port Alberni and chanced upon this place.. The host was very warm and accommodated several of our choices even though it was a set lunch menu.

We ordered a red curry with tofu, chicken pad see lew and a beef broccoli. All the dishes came with a soup, a salad and a spring roll or a wonton.

The soup was very light with the chicken based broth, cabbage, tofu and cilantro.

The pad see lew really took my husband by surprise as we were not expecting such a perfect execution of one of our favourite dishes. The noodles were perfectly al dante and the sauce had the right balance of sweet and spicy.

The red curry was also very flavourful and came with my favourite bamboo shoots, peppers and tofu. The curry paired very well with coconut rice. The salad was very crunchy, fresh and flavourful.

Per my son, the beef was very good but a little more gravy would have amplified...

My wife and I decided to drop into Tiffin Thai Feb 26/25 and what a great decision that was!!! We have been searching for good Thai food since we moved to Port Alberni 2.5 years ago. Well our search is over!!! I had the Chicken Pad Thai and it was the best I have ever had. Lots of chicken, peanuts, sauce, right amount of noodles, nice salad and a spring roll with dipping sauce. Nice and hot (temperature) and the flavour was sooooo good. I cleared the entire plate and so did my wife. We are not usually big eaters but this was so good, no way, we were taking home in a to go box. The staff was so pleasant and attentive, just the right amount of attention. The decor is nothing fancy but who cares the food is the star of the show! Highly recommend you go, you won't regret if you know what good...

Shout out to Tiffin Thai Restaurant. We have ordered from them for the past few weekends because their food is so good, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. We’ve had the egg fried rice, both the red and the green curry, the cashew mixed vegetable and the spinach and broccoli with peanut sauce (all with jasmine rice of course) and it has been outstanding. The portions are generous, and they have adequately satisfied the spice preferences in our house which range from no spice, to give-me-all-you’ve-got. We’re mainlanders and the food at Tiffin Thai is remiscient of the best Thai food from both Whistler and Vancouver.
