Ohhhh my goodness, what could I possibly say to describe how amazing Lake Taco is in a succinct manner?! Since that is impossible, buckle in: first off, Sandy and Matt, my gosh, are they ever the sweetest humans on planet earth! Sandy is so welcoming, so lovely, and her smile literally makes my day! For someone to be so friendly under the extreme pressures of running an extremely popular food truck during the summertime in a resort no less is honestly a skill no one should possess and yet, here we are!!!! Moreover, THE FOOD? Get out of town. Firstly: get the birria taco and thank me later. Actually, scratch that: get them all. I mean it. EVERY SINGLE THING ON THIS MENU IS PERFECTION, and I literally mean that. Though the birria is my current fave. Moreover, my sister, my mother, and myself (though I am still in deep denial) are all celiac, and none of us have ever “been glutened” by their tortillas which is SUCH a feat to accomplish. So, if you’re GF, no need to fret: you’ll be safe here!!! My partner is vegetarian, and the sheer amount of options available on their menu for him to consume is the best thing that’s happened to sherkston in the 31 years I’ve been coming here (and yes, I count my time spent here as a baby as valid!!!!). He LOVES the jackfruit tacos and the elote, and of course the classic tacos which they make veggie ground round for as well. :) On top of that: no matter how many times we visit, Sandy and Matt will always double-check to ensure our dietary needs have not changed since our last visit which is such a quality move on their part. It is very evident Sandy and Matt care very deeply about our health and safety as consumers, which is why I will be a patron of theirs for the rest of time! It’s safe to say I will follow them everywhere—food truck pun intended. Five stars...

Just chiming in on the vegan cheese review to point out several inaccuracies, since it seems to be my experience they are claiming as their own:

“I asked for a specific modification which I watched the lady at the window right down correctly.” The logistics of this just aren't there. The ordering window is far too high to see what the order-taker is writing down.

“She was very polite and pleasant to deal with.” She was pleasant enough, but the new/old blonde guy is next level and the team has certainly found their groove.

“I received my order however and it was made completely wrong.” I was given regular cheese instead of vegan cheese; not a beef taco with loaded fries.

“The owner himself personally apologized to me” This one is true! Yay moral compass!!

“However it seemed I was a burden and his attitude was annoyance.” He took immediate accountability, was sincerely apologetic, made a new taco and threw in a side of guacamole. He handled the very minor incident with perfection and far better than I’m used to.

“I haven't eaten anything non-vegan in 26 years and because of his self admitted mistake that all changed with two bites of my taco.” Vegan for 20 years and there have been lots of mistakes along the way - some made by myself!

“I will not return to Lake Taco after being treated with disrespect and ignorance.” My entire family and I will and have returned after being treated with utmost respect and kindness.

Food was very greasy. Especially the "classic" taco they had on the menu, and some of the meat was still pink in chunks. We also ordered the chips and guacamole and the portion of guac to chips is ridiculously unfit. Way too many chips and half a small container of guac for the price. My food was basically placed at the window for me to just deal with as flies landed on my open boxes. I was offered no help or a bag with such a big order. This is my second visit to the truck and yes you're thinking why return if my complaints about food, but I got different items last time being the fish tacos which were good. Also different staff there this time who were much shorter and impersonal compared to the two girls I dealt with previously. I don't know if I will be back. I guess I will check who's working and stick to my original order of...
