We stayed a couple of days in an resort close to Port McNeill, so we tested the 3 supposedly best restaurants in town: The Archipelagos Bistro, the Northern Lights and the Sportsman's Steak and Pizza House. I take the liberty to write the identical review for all 3. All three restaurants are alright, you don't do a mistake if you go there. Anyway, from our point of view there is a quite clear ranking: #3 is Sportsman's Steak and Pizza. It's pretty good, the steaks are alright, a place to feel good and relax. Try the Mango Daiquiri :-) Nice views, too. #2 is Northern Lights. A little better and a little more upscale. The menu is a bit Italian inspired, the food is very good. Undisputed #1 is the Archipelagos Bistro: Lots of French and Italian dishes like Osso Buco or Foie Gras, which are even hard to get in European restaurants. Everything possible is home made, even the fried pickles we got as starter were pickled by themself. Highly recommended.

Packed house on our visit but the 2 girls servicing everyone were very pleasant and well organized. Outstanding seafood pasta was cooked perfectly with plenty of shrimps, mussels and fish. Seafood special of shrimp, local halibut and salmon was served with fresh cook veg. Again very tasty. Great views of the wharf as the sun set and with all the large picture windows everyone gets to enjoy the scenery. Nice to see some BC beer and wine on the menu at very reasonable prices

Came here due to a lack of other choices. Expectations were low but still not met. The menu looks quite diverse (pasta, meat, fish, pizza, salads) but the chosen meals were simply sub par and still quite expensive. The atmosphere is more like a community hall than a restaurant and we waited very long. The personnel was very friendly though, but still unfortunately I cannot recommend this place.

Very nice and clean restaurant. Pizza was good,Greek platter too but nothing special as we love Greek food! And have better experiences.I would love to give a higher rate but due to the attitude of the waitress I have to give it only one star.I think that one star is even too much!!!! We have been waiting 50 minutes for our main course. Not a big deal. (Only 6 people in the restaurant)!!!Family of four with two young kids. When I noticed that other customers were already served, I politely asked when we can expect our food , and I’ve been told than we do not have to be rude and mean.....?????!!!!! The waitress has never come and asked if the food is good or if we would like to order some more to drink etc......as soon as I paid my bill , I’ve been told that I will not be served there anymore?????!!!!!! and that I should find a restaurant with...

Ordered 4 pizza for take out, was told they would be ready in 45 - 50 minutes . Arrived 50 minutes after placing the order and was then told another 20 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes was again told another 20 minutes due to being busy. Finally got my pizza 110 minutes after placing the order - only 60 minutes late. No apologies or discounts. The restaurant only had 16 guests so being busy is not a valid excuse. There are other options in town for pizza so would highly suggest...
