We had one buffet, veg biryani, tandoori chicken, lamb bhuna ghosh, chai and naans. Honestly some of the items were good, and some were just not good at all. Tandoori chicken was almost stale and had no taste. Lamb bhuna Ghosh was suggested by the waitress and it was also just sour and had no flavour and quantity was so little for 21.99$. However the samosas, pakoras, chai, mango custard, were really yummy. Like I said some of the food was really very good compared to what you can find in Manitoba and some of the food was just not good at all. The waitress was nice but also a bit rude and was only attending the table with more people although it was just our table and the other table so just two tables with customers. We drove from Winnipeg more than an hour to try it. The buffet apparently closes by 8 PM and we arrived at 8 PM and she said we could have the buffet but there were hardly any items in buffet and also it doesn’t include naans which is understandable but for 19.99$ it was an...

It is well known that East Indian foods tend to have lots of spicy dishes. As a person that cannot tolerate very spicy food, I have tended to not like East Indian restaurants. Fortunately, every dish that Om offers on their buffet menu are mildly spiced, and always made fresh.

The chicken dishes that Om offers are saucy and tender. The samosa are large, and packed full of filling. Om offers a food balance of delicious meat and vegetarian options, and have sweet desserts to cleanse the post-meal pallet! Naan bread is made fresh when ordered, and is excellent for soaking up any sauces left on your plate!

Om has made a person, who has grown up to dislike going to East Indian restaurants due to spicy food..... to really enjoy this end of the culinary world! ...

The best dine in experience ever👌. We drove from winnipeg to enjoy beautiful weather on sunday in Portage La Pararie Started with appetizer combo . Freshly made pakodas , crispy spring rolls and amazing paneer pakoras and best samosas Went to lake for a walk and came back for lunch the owner is very friendly she greeted us with a big smile on her face😄 No one can beat the naan they make, so soft easily chewable and you want more and more . Paneer labaabdar as name suggests delicious🤤🤤 the taste of tangy sweet mango chutney is still in my mouth😋. For a sweet tooth like me gulabjamun was so spongy and fresh . This will be our go place for all special days 👍🏼 Thanks to the brilliant cheff who cooks with passion and all the best to this family...

We were greeted at the door by the owner who is very welcoming.  She was also very friendly and attentive while serving us, and we also enjoyed chatting with her afterwards. We selected the buffet, which had a large selection of interesting dishes to choose from along with two dessert options.  All the food was fresh and hot, mildly spiced and very flavourful.  The mango dessert was very tasty.  Everything we tried was delicious. Pricing was reasonable. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, clean, and has a relaxing atmosphere.  This was our first time here, we had an enjoyable dining experience and were impressed with everything.  Can't wait until when next in Portage, as we plan to revisit here to try some other dishes. I highly recommend dining here!

Had such a wonderful experience that we had to meet the chef! My family was in the Middle East for 30 years so we know authentic Indian cuisine very well. This restaurant makes it to the top of our list. We ordered Lamb Biryani (which was so delicious and not oily like others), Aloo Gobi (which tasted so fresh), and the very tender Lamb Bhuna Gosht. The Naan bread we ordered without butter and yet was surprised with how it was so light and crunchy on the outside and sooo soft inside. We were greeted with such friendly staff and the whole place had a very nice and clean atmosphere. I definitely recommend to eat here whenever you are in Portage la Prairie. Our only request is for them to have a branch in Winnipeg so that it’s closer! heheh!
