This bakery was truly a local gem in the area. Apparently it's under new management and it definitely shows. The sourdough bread i bought was awful. Did not taste like sourdough, more like chalky white bread with uncooked flour. The fish cakes were fish smelling flavored mashed potatoes. Not the traditional NL fish cakes I'm used to. Service was awful. The girl behind the counter definitely did not want to be there nor did she want to wait on customers. Lovely selection of fresh bread in rectangular and circular loaves, including wholemeal, Ezekiel, multigrain, and also a beer bread made with the spent grains from the local Quidi Vidi Brewing Company. Also has scones, fish cakes, sandwiches, pies, locally roasted coffee, jams, knits, etc, and à wall of Newfy cookies & bars. Kind, patient service. And yay ! Great little bakery located on Portugal Cove Rd just outside St. John's. Excellent Bread, Rolls, Pies and other deserts. Everything is made daily on site.

Bakery is in a bit of an isolated spot near Winsor Lake the City of St John's Water supply but is worth the short drive.
