Not sure if its the days I've been here or something else. But I've been here a few times and its very inconsistent. One of my first times the food was terrible. The roast beef was so try and over cooked on my Philly Cheese stake sandwiche. On top of that when I asked for a Cesar I got a warm Bloody Mary that was nasty. When I complained the waitress was quite rude. I gave them another chance and came with a co-worker. That night was amazingly better. I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with clams amd a white wine sauce that rivaled the best restraunt. The service was out standing that night and my drinks were made properly. Then there waa today. Where a friend and I ordered the fish and chips. I honsetly think it was a no name frozen fish and chips as the batter was so think & hard I couldn't cut it with a fork. The fish inside was so Dry and the tarter sauce seemed off as well. Our service was sad. There was an older couple that were working. I honestly felt bad for the older gentleman who seemed as though had balance issues. Not once did anyone come and ask how we were doing or how anything else was. When the older lady did come around. She just asked if we were done. That was when I commented on the fish. To which she apologized but was also quick to gripe back no one else complained today. I was quick to point out maybe not but the other table also didn't finish theres as well. As well most people won't complain they just...
Read moreI've heard on numerous occasions that the Alpine Pub has amazing food and have been meaning to come here. I finally did so today with my Dad and my two older sisters. We knew we could expect great food, but we were even more blown away by the amazing customer service and kindness bestowed on us today. Our Dad recently had a stroke and is very weak on his right side. He has difficulty walking. Us girls are just getting used to helping him get around, and we found ourselves facing a couple obstacles today in getting him to the outdoor patio. The entrance to the outdoor patio requires you to walk down two steps. Before I could even begin trying to figure out how to get my Dad and his walker down these steps, 3 staff members from the Alpine surrounded us, offering assistance. One kind lady grabbed my Dad's scooter and moved it for him while two male workers supported my Dad on either side to come down the stairs. When we left, they all returned to help us in the same fashion to get him out of there and back on the road. The waitress that served us was so good natured with our Dad and his off-color humor, and also let our Dad use (and keep!) a Smirnoff blanket and Smirnoff toque to help keep him warm outside today. The way the staff at the Alpine treated my Dad warmed my heart and has renewed my faith in humanity. Thank you for going above and beyond for our...
Read moreThis was the second time we visited this dive!! The first time was in 2013 and it was fabulous, But this time the server couldn't stop taking drink orders long enough to take our food order and pay attention to the special needs ( Allergy) ( Garlic). Hence my brother Bob spending all night in the bathroom. This bimbo with all the Tatoos, forgot the order and never asked the cook about the ingredients in the food ordered, so he was sick to his stomach all night. The manager was nowhere to be found. What has happened to this place in a year? Now it's just a drinking hole, same as any other bar in PG. In 5 minutes we counted 7 trays of drinks being carried by 2 servers. Maybe the Police should watch this place for Drunk Drivers, as the parking...
