I recently had the pleasure of sitting next to Steve and his wife, owners of Arabisk restaurant in Prince Rupert, on a flight from Puerto Vallarta to Vancouver. Listening to Steve talk about the restaurant was nothing short of inspiring. His passion for bringing the vibrant flavors of Mediterranean cuisine to the shores of Prince Rupert is truly remarkable. What’s even more impressive is that Arabisk is a true family affair, with Steve, his wife, their two sons, and their families all playing a vital role in running the business.

While I haven’t had the chance to dine at Arabisk yet, the sheer enthusiasm and dedication that Steve shared about the restaurant have already convinced me that it’s a must-visit. The way he described their commitment to quality, consistency, and the importance of family values in maintaining a successful restaurant left a lasting impression on me. It’s clear that this isn’t just a business for them—it’s a labor of love.

Steve and his wife were on vacation when I met them, while their sons and daughters-in-law were holding down the fort back at the restaurant. This dedication to their craft, even while away, speaks volumes about the care and effort they put into every aspect of their work.

Happy 30th anniversary to Steve and his wife! I’m already looking forward to my trip to Prince Rupert, where Arabisk will be...

I thought The Crest was a good place for atmosphere, service, and food.

I was proven wrong. My first time dining here was amazing. I thought I would have time to take a picture once the food came out, but by the time I remembered, my plate was clean.

The staff was also extremely friendly and attentive. We received the best service you could get from any restaurant you could visit in Prince Rupert. The chef even came out to speak with us!

It is a bit pricy with their more expensive dishes around $20+ (I paid $28 for my dish), but for the flavourful food, service, and experience, it's worth it.

If you're looking for vegetarian options, there are a few menu items that may fit your dietary needs. There are also a couple of gluten-free options if you're looking for that as well.

This restaurant is constantly changing to improve their dishes. Their portions are perfect, and it's quite filling to eat here. We ended up with some leftovers, which we were able to take home.

There are also events hosted by this restaurant that you should ask about if you plan on visiting.

For anyone still on the fence, I highly recommend this restaurant. You could not get this experience anywhere else.

(review was edited to add more info... I was still unable to get a picture of our dishes....

I did the Mixology Masterclass Trolley Tour while I was in Prince Ruoert and it was one of my best experiences of my ENTIRE cruise!!!!! Keith was my Trolley driver and he was AWESOME!!! He knew everything about this gourgeous little island And he is funny, well spoken and more than happy to share his love of island!!!! Then we got to Arabisk a Mediterainian Cuisine Restaurant and were treated to a craft cocktail mixology course with 1 if the owners Sara. It was so much FUN mixing craft cocktails for myself and my other guests who werent in a mixing mood. Cant wait till my next dinner party!!!! Ill be serving Sumac Gin Spritzes and impress my guests!! The 2 cocktails we made were scrupcous!!! The food was BETTER than ANYTHING I had had my cruise ship (or in AK really) and there was SO MUCH FOOD we barely touched it and I left STUFFED!!!! The minimal ingredients were painstakingly prepared resulting in an explotion of sophisticated flavor in their choice of spices. From the first course to dessert they DO NOT DISSAPOINT!!!! Everything about this tour is Top Notch and NOT TO BE MISSED when in Prince Rupert wether you are there on a cruise ship, in town a few days or weeks, or a life long resident check it...

Update: June 14. This time, we tried the Chicken Shawarma plate and Lamb Biryani. Both dishes were very flavorful, and proteins were moist. I absolutely LOVE the hummus. The chicken wings appetizer was delicious. We got the lemon za'atar spice, which was a nice balance between citrus, sweet and salty. The amount of pita they serve with the tzaziki appetizer is questionable... so you'll likely need to order more pita - you get a LOT of tzaziki, haha. It's really good, though! This time, I tried the baklava dessert. It was so good. Crispy and sweet. Beautiful place to eat, delicious food and excellent service! The staff was very attentive during the visit. Food was very flavorful and tasted fresh. Noodles were perfectly cooked, in my opinion. Dessert went down so fast I didn't get a photo to share with you, haha. Dessert has a very sweet sauce on it but was a good addition to the creaminess of the rice pudding. I will come back! This place does not disappoint!

Shared two appetizers and two mains between four. Babaganoush: very delicious dip with smokey flavour. I feel that more pita could be given so that the dip can be enjoyed without piling on so much on each pita Burek: delicious cheese filled rolls. Comes with 3 Mixed Grill: quite a large main, I would recommend sharing unless you have a large appetite. The meats were very tender and well seasoned. Lamb Biryani: I found this was the most disappointing dish. The lamb was quite dry and flavourless. Certainly not worth the $28 price point. Overall the food was very delicious, and service was great. However I do feel that it can be considered quite overpriced, especially with the mezzes.
