Lovely surprise high tea! I was visiting the area with a friend. We expected to have tea, soup and scones for lunch, not knowing high tea was being served. The regular menu for the weekend is posted on their Facebook page. High tea is normally advertised via their newsletter. My friend and I were able to enjoy high tea as walk ins! Service was wonderful. We did not know the servers were all volunteers and they did a great job! The food was lovely and the chef came by more than once to see if we were enjoying our meal. We were and did! The location is lovely inside Milner Gardens (so no street noise!) and in a large well-kept heritage house. I would definitely come back and recommend to others.

We arrived on a wet and dreary afternoon with our sights set on tea and scones. We had heard that the scones are amazing, and they did not disappoint! Turned out we were the last tea room customers of the season, so we took the opportunity to take a photo of all the lovely volunteers who we met. They were all so nice and, while the scones were exactly what we hoped they would be, the real treat was meeting the volunteers. We must return when the weather is nicer to also enjoy the gardens. 😊

Had such a great time at the tea room. We entered through the garden ($10 admission fee) and had a really nice stroll through the really lush garden. We has two tea: black tea and herbal tea. The herbal tea is their specialty (not sold anywhere else). Both are delicious. We also ordered soup of the day (tomato basil + focaccia bread) and I had the scone. The scone is so yummy!!

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and planned to go to the tea house then walk the gardens. The weather was beautiful and we were seated on the veranda with a unblicked view of the water and landscape. I can honestly say I was blown away, as were my table mates, by the scones and jam. We also had a slice of the chocolate cake which was also delicious. Our volunteer server, Eileen, was charming and spoke with knowledge and enthusiasm about the history of the grounds and the Milners. We spent the rest of our time viewing the grounds. So picturesque and well planned. Perfect afternoon. And...
