Lovely surprise high tea! I was visiting the area with a friend. We expected to have tea, soup and scones for lunch, not knowing high tea was being served. The regular menu for the weekend is posted on their Facebook page. High tea is normally advertised via their newsletter. My friend and I were able to enjoy high tea as walk ins! Read moreWe visited on a Sunday afternoon and planned to go to the tea house then walk the gardens. The weather was beautiful and we were seated on the veranda with a unblicked view of the water and landscape. I can honestly say I was blown away, as were my table mates, by the scones and jam. We also had a slice of the chocolate cake which was also delicious. Our volunteer server, Eileen, was charming and spoke with knowledge and enthusiasm about the history of the grounds and the Milners. We spent the rest of our time viewing the grounds. Read moreWe arrived on a wet and dreary afternoon with our sights set on tea and scones. We had heard that the scones are amazing, and they did not disappoint! Turned out we were the last tea room customers of the season, so we took the opportunity to take a photo of all the lovely volunteers who we met. They were all so nice and, while the scones were exactly what we hoped they would be, the real treat was meeting the volunteers. We must return when the weather is nicer to also enjoy...
