A&W Canada — Restaurant in Quesnel

We stopped here after a travelling very long and hot drive at about 5:15p.m. on June 28th. I wanted to sit inside after being in the car for a long time. I noticed as I ordered that chairs were blocking both sides of the restaurant seating areas. When I got my food and asked where I could sit the clerk said I could not eat inside as they were cleaning! I asked If they were closing but she replied again they were cleaning. When asked what time they close she replied 10 o clock but they wanted to get the cleaning done in case someone wanted to leave early. These were three young people working…and very argumentative. I know it’s difficult these days to get staff but this gal definitely needs training in customer service. She was try8ng to turn people away to clean five hours before closing time! She told the next lady after me the same thing and when lady said she was travelling and was going to sit..the gal told her”don’t get anything dirty or make a mess!” ...

Terrible. We were there before 10:50 on holiday Monday. We stood in line for 20 minutes while the old lady behind the till chatted with everyone. And the two young girls there did Diddley squat. I finally got to the till at 11:10 and asked for the all Canadian breakfast . The old lady never asked what can I get she never apologized for the wait... And I over heard customers saying they had already been waiting 25 minutes for those food. She looked at me and said breakfast is over at 11 . I said I was in here at 10:50 and I have been on line for 20 minutes. She said not my problem. Will never go back!!! And all the staff should be fired. Useless!!!!?! Very understaffed. My low rating is directed at the owners/managers. The young lady that took our order was very new and in training but had no one to help her (she didn't know how to "combo" a meal so I paid a little extra). She was very overwhelmed. My order was incomplete as was the other couple that were also waiting. The other front line staffer was trying to pick up the pieces and correct things. I really can't fault the young ladies that were clearly undertrained. The store was also not clean. Again, I think this is a direct result of not having a proper level of staff. I will gladly change this review if the owner has a good explanation as to why they were so understaffed. One incident doesn't dictate an...
