The food here is SO good - a MUST TRY dining experience. Any one who rates this place low has taste bud issues

Chef Dave takes great care with all the items on the menu and the ingredients are fresh! The quality of the food rivals some of the fine restaurants in downtown Toronto! His wife is also a super friendly host!

We've experienced the following menu items (and probably others that I forgot about) and ALL have been delicious (note the menu changes regularly so you may not see some of the below when you visit): Focaccia bread (freshly baked and delicious) Butternut squash soup Crispy wings (crowd favorite!) Tent salad Fried calamari and shrimp (so crispy and tasty!) Seafood linguine (amazing - we always order at this dish if it's on the menu!) Tent ravioli (really good!) Country carbonara (yum!) Tent burger Cornish hen Fried chicken sandwich (fried to perfection) Fish and chips Braised lamb bowl (wonderful flavors) Seared haddock Prime rib sandwich Jerk chicken (this was probably the least favorite because we were expecting something else. The dish was a shredded chicken without any jerk flavor at all - there was no spice either - don't know if this is because they tamed the jerk flavors down for the local clientele)

Also to note, their fries and home fries are fresh cut and super tasty!

The only time we've been disappointed is when they were fully booked on Valentine's as we didn't book on time and couldn't get the 3 course meal :( My wife was so disappointed, hopefully Chef Dave will bring some lobster ravioli and molten chocolate cake back soon so we can try it!

We have already eaten here so many times (both takeout and dine in) as you can see from the list above in the past 6 months - the food is that good! For take-out, the food is well packaged in tin foil containers (not styrofoam)

The restaurant needs a bit of work on the outside as it doesn't do the food justice! Note: the parking lot is a bit awkward with a raised curb in the middle of the lot where there may be have been old old gas...

Three times in a row. Ordered well before. Never on time. Always late so frustrating. Good food. But terrible customer service. Every single time. At least 15 minutes late. It's as if they wait until I am here to cook it. What the heck is the point of ordering ahead. Way too pricey for this community. Last time for me. Wasting people's time is not good when you are trying to gain new customers. Very disappointing.

EDIT TO YOUR REPLY!

I order food for pick up and unlike you I arrive and RESPECT Peoples time. I do not want to wait another 35 minutes when I am there. You told my wife 2 minutes. She wasn't fine with it. What was she suppose to say though no? Come on! Terrible reply. I called at 515 pm for a 645 pickup. The lady on the phone said we can't do it until 630..so I was even kind enough to say I will come at 645. This was not the first time. Every single time I pre order you wait until I am there. What is the point of that????. I mine as well just show up. But don't worry. I won't again. Especially after your false and rude reply. Don't make it look like you were not even close to being in the wrong. I wrote this because it is a multiple occurrence. If it is not late you forget something in our order. If someone says they will pick up at a certain time then you should honor that. If the customer is late and their food is soggy that is their fault. Thanks for Making the...

Dining at Tent is a unique and special experience. In the Orillia area, the food is in a league of it’s own. I’ve eaten here three times, always for brunch. It’s not an overstatement to say that each time the meal has been damn near close to perfect.

The store itself is seriously deceptive, the restaurant looks like it was formerly a gas station and it’s in the country on a random stretch of road. It almost feels intentional afterwards, like they wanted to throw you off before blowing you away.

It always starts with the bread knots, like a complimentary basket of bread, expect these are donut-like, and some of the best pastries I’ve ever had. Who puts this level of care into a starter that is usually an afterthought? But this is what Tent does, every single ingredient in every dish is prepared with meticulous care. They are clearly pouring in everything they have back in the kitchen. The burger I had today was among the 2 or 3 best I’ve had in my life (the bacon jam put it over the top).

By far, this is the best restaurant north of Toronto I’ve been to. It doesn’t seem to make sense that it exists but I am...

This restaurant truly provides the experience of comfortable fine dining. Behind the dishes I met Dave who share his time, commitment and passion he puts behind each plate which is unreal! From explaining the intricacy of each dish to the way it’s plated and served you can’t help but want to try more. My personal favourite dish is the mussels, the most surprising dish is the octopus, the best signature dish is the mixed salad which is unfortunately limited until mid fall. Best cocktails would be the espresso martini and spicy margarita. Each plate is served with fresh in house ingredients sourced from local farms, nothing frozen or cutting corners here which is why my family cancelled Father’s Day reservations in Toronto and came back here following an hour drive away. To put it short, you won’t beat the freshness, flavour and portion size of what they serve at tent kitchen. I highly recommend this place to everyone! Thank you Tent Kitchen + Bar!

Dropped in for brunch and everything was tasty at pretty good prices: - Tent's Fried Chicken and Waffles: While I don't usually like my chicken with this much coating, I liked this one as the skin was crackling crunchy while the meat was juicy. Would have liked a bit thicker potato waffle and a bit more spicy honey. The poached egg was a delightful surprise. - Prime Rib Sandwich: Tender rib strips, tasty chimichurri sauce, great bread. The side fries were also really good. - Lemon Ricotta Pancakes: Loved how strong the lemon taste was. - Dough Balls: Instead of the standard bread, they gave these fried dough balls lathered in caramel as the free table bread. Yum! Service is a bit scattered and slow, but they try. Prices are good value for what you get. Place is simple and casual. If you want a tasty brunch that won't hurt your wallet, this is a great spot to try.

You NEED to eat here! This place serves the best food I’ve had in a VERY long time. Everything we ate was so delicious that my husband and I were literally speechless. We had the hummus and Brussels sprouts to start, such incredible flavour combos. Then I had the burger and my husband had the shrimp crab spaghetti. I didn’t think a burger could be that good!!! I will be dreaming about it tonight. Can’t wait to come back and try the brunch!! Top notch food, great portions and for a fair price. Ate it so quickly that we forgot to take photos of everything lol Service was also amazing, Dave the chef came out to introduce himself and it was so nice to hear his story. Waitress was kind and attentive. I would never have expected to find a restaurant this good out here in the middle of nowhere, but this place is 12/10. You will not regret the drive! So worth it.
