The meal was so good that I forgot to take a photo of the food! We came here to the dine in side because we wanted a meal and had heard it was a very good place to eat in Regina Beach. The fish and chips had been recommended but I wasn’t feeling fishy. I do plan to return for some though! I had the grilled chicken burger and it was the BEST grilled chicken burger I’ve ever had. Hands down. The chicken was moist and perfectly cooked. I did have to ask for extra mayo cause I like it real saucy. My partner has the pulled pork tacos and chips and the fries were SO good. They were dark and almost double fried but so good and crispy. Highly recommend. I would try any pulled pork meal on their menu! The server was great too. Brianna- thank you for a lovely experience and your cheery bright attitude! It made our day. I highly recommend this place. The vibe and decor is old fashioned and I’ve been told original in nature staying true to the opening 97 years ago! We hope to return again before we go back up north once we can return to our communities safely.

I ordered the fish and chips meal, of course. We asked what the fish is, it's cod. The texture of the fish batter is very light and crunchy, very good. The meal included 2 fillets, and a generous portion of chips, plenty for what I wanted. The meal included a cup of coleslaw, but I didn't try it. The restaurant has been in operation for almost 100 years, it's a popular place. I recommend trying it, if you're near Regina beach.

Read the comments about how disappointed others were. So we’re we. Sure the place is 95 years old and is nostalgic. The Fish n Chips isn’t worth the drive. The fries are over cooked and the fish has no real taste that warrants immediate ‘must try’ action. It’s okay for the location, but I would try another place or another dish.

It’s not that hard to cook fish is it? Find a better batter recipe that actually covers the fish so it doesn’t become fish-jerky. The Blue Bird used to have delicious delicate fish that was amazing. What happened over the years? Just make a quality product. I can’t spend $6 on a piece of garbage I wouldn’t even feed to a dog.

Also why is 1 piece plus a tray of fries so much less than a 1 piece with fries? It’s about 50% more money to get them in the same box? What?

Ever hear of a kids menu? Not paying $9 for an order or fries for a kid.

Still awful in 2024. Now comes with a thimble size coleslaw. Oh yeah and bring your nickles if you want any...

Went over the weekend. The food was fully cooked, but that is where the good ends. The fries were greasy and had zero seasoning. I wasn't expecting to have to drown my food in salt to make it palatable. Fries should at least be lightly seasoned after removing from the fryer - something is better than nothing. The fish was bland and flavourless (again, no seasoning). The batter was leathery. The fish was served with packets of Kraft Tarter sauce. Why bother serving fish if you can't be bothered to use something better than...
