My wife and I attended the pre-opening night last night, October 7th. We had heard very good things about this place and we were not disappointed, far from it. The first thing that delighted us was the cozy, warm and intimate atmosphere… dinner by candle light, what a beautiful thing! It felt like being invited to somebody’s house for a gourmet meal, which is exactly what this experience is about.
Bruce greeted us with such kindness, we felt right at home. Chef Shelley prepared a succulent 5-course meal with ingredients straight from her backyard farm. I personally love vegetables and the freshness of the Brussel sprouts, carrots, red peppers, potatoes and beets was striking! The main meal, which consisted of stuffed breaded chicken—oven-baked, not fried—was absolutely tantalizing and cooked to perfection.
The service was impeccable, Bruce is always attentive to your needs. It may sound like a cliché but I really felt the food was prepared with love by someone who loves what they’re doing. My wife also thought that all the food was seasoned perfectly, we did not feel the need to add any salt or pepper, it was perfect as is. I found out Chef Shelley used to own a restaurant in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue and her experience is evident. You can even bring your own wine—honestly what more can you possibly ask for?
There was soft jazz music playing in the background and there’s even a piano in the dining room for courageous patrons! Highly recommended, we will be going back with certainty.
This is what a true farm-to-table experience...
Read moreWent there last week. It's very cozy and small. Not many people = not too loud atmosphere which is great. The host was nice and the food was amazing and fresh. Two things to know. 1: it's only open on Saturdays from October to April. 2: it's a whole night affaire. Since there are 5 courses (including dessert) and only one person the cook and the other serves, it takes time. We were there for nearly 4 hours. But the food and atmosphere...
