My wife and I went to the Irving Big Stop at Rothesay Route 1 today for our Valentine's Day supper today February 14, 2024..

My wife ordered a hamburger with fries and I ordered the roast turkey dinner.

What a disaster our supper was, served on a hot plate but our food was ice cold.

I advised our waitress my meal was ice cold. She took it back and heated it up in the microwave and returned it.

I was not even offered a roll when my order was taken but the people sitting behind us who arrived after us also ordered the turkey supper and were asked if they would like a roll and butter.

I tried the whipped mash potatoes they were soggy and still cold in the center and the small amount of mixed turkey was cool.

Our waitress did not return to check on our meal or beverages.

My wife advised me her fries and hamburger meat was also ice cold after taking a couple of bites. All she was was just the hamburger.

I did eat some of the turkey stuffing and 25% of the whipped potatoes but it was cold so I placed my napkin over my plate.

The waitress returned when she seen the napkin on the plate. She asked if we wanted any desert and I asked for a piece of cake to go and left.

This was our second visit at this location in the past 6 months hoping this time things had changed. Both times our meals were cold as ice on a hot plate.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION FOR A MEAL.

I will not be returning to the location again for food as it is a waste of our time and money for a poor quality meal. There are a lot more places to eat that are more than willing to make sure what they are serving is hot.

Yes it was busy as we arrived at 4:00pm but not a full house.

It was very disappointing to get such a poor quality meal from an Irving Big Stop. When we travel we always go to the Irving Big Stops as we can count on a good quality hot meal such as the Silver Fox outside of Moncton.

In our opinion there is a major problem in the kitchen that needs to be addressed at this location as there are other reviews referring...

Everyone told me not to try the seafood here because there’s so many other places that are fresher and CHEAPER but despite, I tried it and I’d say it’s pretty filling, it’s good, I wouldn’t give it a 10/10 if you are seafood fanatic but if you’re craving a platter, it will suffice! The fish is as good as it can be for the way it’s made and the type (frozen for sure), the shrimp was fried nicely not soaked in much oil, the scallops were also good, the clams were meh! They were a little sandy and the texture was just not there for me, definitely enjoy Comeau’s clams better. Overall, I would still recommend this for a quick easy fix for a seafood platter! It’s in a convenient spot and given they serve A TON more options and seafood is not their specialty, they did well. Tartar sauce was good and coleslaw...

My wife and I called before we showed up. We were Informed that the restaurant closed at eight o'clock pm. We arrived at seven thirty pm. Wednesday august 21 2024. Upon arrival, we were refused service.. Mind you it is seven thirty pm, And we have already received confirmation that the kitchen would be open until eight pm. Horrible customer service.. A total waste of time. Very unprofessional. Myself, along with my wife and a lot of our friends have eaten here over the years. We would like someone to get back to us because the management here is clearly not willing to work. Not only was My wife and I in line there was also Another man with his company refused. Wednesday 7:30 PM...

Excellent service, great food - hot, quick, and really good. Belgium waffle was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and utterly delicious. Omlette was big and very filling, and kid meal was a hit for the young one. Highly recommend! Marjorie was fantastic!

My brother went in today to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Irving Big Stop Restaurant with the retro 1984 priced special. It was delicious and a great price. Friendly service from the staff members and clean washrooms.
