My husband and I completed our mud hero and decided to grab something to eat on our way back to the city. We made our order and then asked the girl where the restrooms were so we can wash our hands before we ate. We were told the washrooms were inside the store next door. We went back and waited a bit in front of the window. Our legs were getting tired of waiting so we went to sit at a picnic table. We have been waiting for about half an hour at this point. We then realize that the people who ordered after us were getting their food. So I went to the window and asked where our food was. The girl then replied. “Oh you’re Star? It was a bison burger and the special?” I was like “yes” so she then told me “I lost your paper for the order. We will get that on for you now” so I walk back to my car and waited another 10 mins. Still seeing people getting their food. So I decided to just get my money back. After waiting 45 minutes for 2 burgers and a fries. I wouldn’t give this place half a star review. She knew my order AND my name but lost the “paper” and couldn’t have called me to ask for my order again? What a joke of an establishment. Would not recommend. I hate to say this but maybe they just don’t serve...
Read moreWish we had discovered this gem earlier in the summer! We live "just down the road" in Steinbach and, to be honest, have driven right past Happy Earl's Dawg House many times when going through Kleefeld. We stopped on a whim between garage sales in the area and noticed a sign for a summer special -- deluxe cheeseburger and fries for $3.99.
We ordered two of the specials at the window and took a seat. This is strictly a takeout place, with picnic tables set outdoors, seating in a screened in gazebo, and a sandbox for the kids. We also noticed people (there was a LOT of traffic for such a small place in a fairly small town) eating in their vehicles or driving off with their orders.
The amount of food you get for 4 bucks is great! The burgers ARE a little on the small side but very tasty, and the fries are plentiful. Since the first visit above, we've been back as a family and enjoyed the same great food and portions, and hope to get some more visits in before the...
Read moreOpening week was a little rough, to be expected with young teenagers figuring out how to work in a fast paced environment, but that wouldnt stop us from going here ever!! The food is SO good, anyone complaining is acting as if this is a full out restaurant, which it's not! It's a little cute food hut with the GREATEST drive in food around. 3.97 for a burger and fries is the best deal, you cant beat it!! Of course there are a few hiccups that come with running an extremely busy establishment, but do not let the deter you from at least trying it out! We love Happy Earl's, and you will too once you try...
