We had a great experience last year. What a stark contrast this year. The waitress had issues with communication as in there basically was zero. We waited almost 2 hours for our food. Some people in our party had to leave before it arrived. She stopped coming to our table about an hour into this journey. We eventually had to go find her to ask for our food to go... then 10 minutes later asked to pay the bills in advance thinking that would probably take another hour to figure out. Took another 30 minutes for some food to start arriving after paying our bills. And it's coming out one or two things at a time - for a table of 6 people. Decided I had enough and was just going to leave.. so fed up. As I'm walking out of the patio some dude who I think is the manager shoves a pizza into my chest as he's walking by with food for another table - It think he said here's your pizza. So I asked him are you talking to me? Ya. Here's your pizza. No smile. Attitude. I'm like this isn't my pizza I ordered a 12" this is a large (it was for someone else in my group). This wasn't even our server. He just stares at me like it's his first time ever speaking to a customer. Normally in a situation like ours, apologies are in order. Not attitude and smugness. His attitude made me so upset I told him off and told him to keep my pizza, to which he said sure. LMAO. Never coming back and telling everyone I know about the experience. Keep my money. Absolutely worst dining experience I (or anyone in our group) have ever had. I can understand being busy, but the complete lack of care, communication, or apology really shows how unprofessional these people are. I actually didn't trust the food and wouldn't have eaten it anyway. What a waste...

I would not recommend this restaurant due the lack of service we received. When we walked in it took almost 5 minutes for staff to acknowledge me and I was informed immediately that there were no tables available. I informed her that I just wanted to place an order French fries (my son has hypoglycaemia and needs to have regular meals to maintain his blood sugar). She informed me that it would take 40 minutes. For one order of French fries? I inquired about the wait and she indicated that orders are filled in the order they come in. I mentioned that since it was one order of fries and many of their meals are accompanied by fries, surely they could drop a few extra and fill our order sooner than 40 minutes. She refused and we left.

After browsing around for a few minutes in the adjacent store, I decided to return and ask again if our order could be filled sooner. I was met with anger and resistance by another staff member whose level of vitriol left me feeling this interaction was less about the wait time and more about not wanting to serve us. At this time another patron unnecessarily inserted himself into the conversation and asked me to leave. At this time, I certainly didn't feel safe as a woman, alone with my son, even moreso as a woman of colour, and left immediately. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is not from the community; it doesn't lend itself as being a place safe for...

I went to drifters yesterday early afternoon for breakfast/lunch with a friend and my dad and his friend. After 30 seconds of sitting a lady in the dining room approached us “you ready”. Not even having a chance to look at the menu. Oh well we ordered fast anyways. My friend went first got omelette with no mushrooms. I asked for regular omelette. She came to the table and asked who had no mushrooms my friend said it was him, so she gave him his and gave me mine. Cut into the omelettes, start eating I didn’t notice anything. My friend hates them and he’s like hey do you have mushrooms . I didn’t and he had a lot. Not being picky he starts picking them out. I told the lady. She was like okay I’ll fry some up for you, I said no it’s okay.. this is where it gets weird, I only have a bite of my omelette left and haven’t touched my hash browns yet. The lady comes up from behind me, reaches her arm in front of me with a plate of mushrooms and dumps them on my plate, a few were stuck to the plate so she flicked the mushrooms off with her finger and licked her fingers and said “mmmm I love mushrooms”. Absolutely disgusting, I didn’t touch my plate after that, not having any hash browns, not finishing...

This restaurant was recommended by someone who has a cabin nearby and said that there's always a lot of vehicles here. So we thought we'd try it out. We were not disappointed. Lots of room inside, bright and clean, the servers were there when we needed them, and the food was served quick. The menu is the typical roadside fare. The mushroom soup with rice was a new experience to be replicated at home. The table ketchup may have had a few too many days on the table but other than that everything was delightful.

My short stay at drifters was nothing short of extraordinary. The staff is so friendly, the rooms were great for the price and the food and atmosphere in the restaurant and bar are top notch. I honestly wish I was staying longer. Apparently the ceasers are a must try! I ate the eggs Benedict breakfast and it was bomb.

Excellent food excellent value excellent service Thanks to Carol, our waitress with a sense of humor. Greek salad, Caesar salad and bacon and cheese hamburgers. In the words of Arnold the Terminator “I’ll be back” next time we pass this way.
