Bistro 758 — Restaurant in Rural Municipality of Montcalm

After driving 6 or so hours north from central Minnesota we decided we should eat before dark and before we got into Winnipeg where neither one of us had ever been. We got off the highway and drove into this little town and found what appeared to be the lone dining spot. We drove past it twice debating whether we wanted to go on or just take the chance. We took the chance and we were very pleasantly surprised. This is NOT a fine dining experience in terms of totality but the food was served fresh and hot, it was more than adequate, the service was polite and attentive.

This is a primarily Chinese menu w/ very friendly and attentive owner/operators:) I had the pork fried rice and it was very good. Hot, huge serving and very fresh. We barely waited at all before the food arrived. My partner had the bbq pork and it was good but had too much sauce. Another huge portion though. The salad was simple and good too.

This was a very simple place, pretty easy on easy off and clearly served a necessary role in the community in terms of public gathering and food service. It was late when we arrived so we were the only people in the eating side, there was also a bar attached.

if you want canned vegetables mixed with half a bottle of cooking oil, or a soggy store bought chicken burger completely doused in mayo with lettuce that’s half wilted.. this is your place. Smug town, unlike other small Manitoban towns. Stop in Morris if you actually want a decent meal.. better yet keep heading north to Winnipeg for experience with the real friendly manitoba because this place is...

Place was packed when we got there So good to see a town supporting their businesses All you can eat 5 soups 8.95 and they were tasty Server could not stop saying sorry for slow service But it wasn’t slow one person looking after everyone and she did fantastic Will definitely return it’s only an hour from Winnipeg and well worth it You get the country...
