We had the high tea experience so the review is based on that specifically. The building is very cute and rustic but modern at the same time. The outside is beautiful with the flowers they have on either side of the door, a perfect photo backdrop. To get to our tea room there were some narrow stairs which might be difficult for some ppl but I am sure if needed, the restaurant could accommodate.
We were seated quickly and waited for the rest of our party, the staff were very friendly and nice. There was a bit of a delay between the time the waitress came to see us once everyone had arrived but it did give us time chat. They were also finishing their lunch rush so it's understandable. Once our waitress came she passed out menus, explained how it works and then came back for our tea orders. The teas were really good and everyone was happy including the kids that were part of the group (7+… kids all chose raspberry teas).
Our trays of sandwiches and other items came quickly after our tea and while I initially I thought the portions were small, it was deceiving and we were so full by the end of it that we had to bring things home as we could not finish them. The sandwiches were delicious and the kids that opted for the kids version of the menu enjoyed their food as well. The many desserts were all very good with the cheesecake being a highlight for most and the lemon puff pastry bring my personal highlight.
Perfect little experience for a small gathering of friends you haven't seen in a while, a girl's or mom time out with friends, or a way for a bride to show appreciation to a small wedding party.
I would definitely come back again with a group of girl friends...
Read moreMy mom, aunt, sister-in-law and I all went out this past weekend to Lily stone cafe for their Mother’s Day high tea and floral arrangement workshop. It was so lovely! The high tea was so delicious and we were very impressed with how accommodating the cafe was for my aunt who had gluten and lactose intolerances. She said everything she had was delicious, especially the farmhouse salad!
I also had my three month old with us and they were very accommodating and helpful with providing an area to change her, as the bathroom is quite small and there is not a surface in there for changing.
As for the floral arrangement workshop, that was very well organized! We had a lot of fun putting them together from the fresh bouquets they had for us. The owner walked us through her process and then we had free reign. We got to take the arrangement home (obviously) and it came in a little glass dish with care instructions. Would definitely recommend going if/when they have another workshop like that.
The cafe itself is very charming and quaint. There are a lot of cute, vintage decor pieces for sale throughout the cafe itself and a bunch of grab and go meals and yummy bakery items for sale. The whole ride home we talked about how lovely of a day it was and how we couldn’t wait to come back to try out their regular menu and hopefully get a chance to go to the greenhouse next time, as it was closed.
Overall, highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking for something to do outside...
Read moreLuck brought us to The Ole Farmhouse. We just happened by and saw a busy parking lot and figured we better go see what the fuss was about. You're welcomed by a sign that says "Come in we're Awesome" which immediately made my day. And they were right! We didn't have a reservation which they said isn't necessary but advised at peak hours. The cafe is a rustic two story farmhouse that's cozy and comfortable. Booths or small tables but you almost feel like you sat down in your grandma's dining room and she's baking fresh cinnamon buns in the kitchen (which they do and the aroma is heavenly). The menu looked great and the breakfast was perfectly done and prompt. And they serve cracklings as a meat choice, which I gotta say is a guilty pleasure but on a sourdough rye toast with jam, it's a welcome blast from the past for me. Oh and service was extremely personable and friendly. Worth the trip if you're ever looking for that hidden jem café. Go for a drive with a...
