Heard about Grassmere from friends & family and finally on my 3rd trip to visit family (from Vancouver island) we got the chance to go !! Lotsa parking for sure and the building is saloon like but let’s get to the food selections. Prob the first Filipino restaurant that featured Canadian breakfast lunch & dinners which is unique in itself. But we were here for the Filipino style breakfast so it was straight to the Filipino Platter but also tried the Triple Stack burger 🍔 (shared-nice portions) and it was very very satisfying and tasty . The service was great and we all enjoyed our meals tremendously! It was nice place to sit and chat and we may have been a little bit noisy from all the laughter and really felt at home there. In short, YA GOTS TO GO AND TRY ALL THE DISHES!!! We liked it so much that we went back the next day and then before my Winnipeg departure went for the 3rd breakfast 🍳 / brunch!! I’ve never gone 3 days in a row to a restaurant that I can ever remember so what does that tell ya. Grassmere is quaint and the food is delicious and nice portions too!! The only disappointment was that they didn’t have dried fish as an option which would have completed ✅ the experience but then again that’s for another restaurant in town. Overall, I’ll def go back on my next family visit here and kudos to Grassmere. Keep up the delicious cooking 🧑🍳 CHEERS...
Read moreAhhh-mazing! We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning at approximately 8:30am. The parking lot was pretty full and people were waiting to get a table. We registered and waited for only 5 minutes! The service was incredible and the food was absolutely superb! It was a rather long wait to get our order, but totally worth the wait! The prices are very reasonable. It has been said that, "if you go to an ethnic restaurant and people who are of that ethnicity are eating there, it must be authentic". That is very true to this establishment. When we arrived, we were the only couple not of the Filipino ethnicity. It was so fun and such a wonderful experience! Just a side note. Don't expect to get a knife with your cutlery. Traditionally, a lot of rice is used in authentic Filipino dishes, therefore a fork and spoon are easiest to eat with. They even have a couple of picnic tables, outside, under an awning, that patrons can be served at. We very much enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. We hope to...
Read moreFirst time here a couple of days ago and I ordered the bangsilog and the ube pancakes while the boyfriend got the Pinoy platter. Great tasting food and portions. Lots to order from on the menu. Was a little sad I couldn’t order the pancakes as a half size but it was enjoyable so I can’t complain. Service for our food to get from the kitchen to our table wasn’t a long wait, but we were never checked up on after that. Didn’t get to ask for a refill of water and once our plates were cleared, and waited another 10-15mins, we were never offered our bill. Given it was pretty busy around 1030am but it would’ve been nice to not have been forgotten about. The younger man didn’t seem to have much going on so it would’ve been nice for him to have come around. He also didn’t seem to be at all interested about his work or the customers which I thought was very unfortunate. He just seemed to be there. Despite the service though, I’ll definitely be...
