SHAKE IT Bubble Tea (Uptown) — Restaurant in Saanich

We love this place , they have really tasty bubble tea. But today, we had an unpleasant experience.

We decided to try the “Signature Bubble Tea” (as written on the poster, listed as drink number 2 and you can even see bubbles in the image on the poster for this drink ). When placing the order, we specifically asked for the Signature Bubble Tea with no ice.

However, when we received our drinks, there were two issues: first, there were no bubbles inside, and second, ice was added.

I went to the cashier to explain that something had gone wrong. I mentioned that we had asked for no ice and pointed to the drink we ordered on the poster. She politely blamed us, saying we should have mentioned “number 2,” but we had clearly said the name of the drink.

It would be much better if staff confirmed the order more carefully and if the menu was updated to make...

Customer service is very poor. The young woman who has helped me a couple times does not respond to questions or comments. Last time my drink was the wrong size and I tried to get her attention about 5 times before I ended up having to yell ‘excuse me’ really loudly :( when I explained the issue she didn’t even acknowledge me or say anything, she just took the drink and told off her coworker in Chinese that it was supposed to be a large not a small. If I didn’t understand her I wouldn’t have had anyway to know she was aware of my issue and was going to fix it.

Also the last time I visited, the bubbles were very overcooked and soft. The drink cost me almost $9! At a bakery if they burn the bread they don’t try to sell it, they remake it or tell people they are out...

I got the avocado slushie, good avocado flavor but it’s sweet! I got 50% sugar and it was still sweet. The drink would have been better if there was a bit more ice, it was a little too melted/watery for a slushie. I think they can train their employees to make their drinks a little bit faster. Thankfully I beat the rush but when a crowd came in they seemed a little overwhelmed (only one person making drinks and one person taking orders/payment). Interior was clean and bright from natural sunlight, but maybe could use some more decorations. Overall not a bad drink stop if you’re shopping...
