O'Batillage — Restaurant in Saguenay

A memorable dinner for us. We shared a number of both appetizer and main course offerings. Was nice to see two different sizes of quantity options with most all the menu items. We had a mixture of several seafood and veggie items that we shared and a cheese plate as well as wine and other beverages. The food was very fresh and nicely seasoned and presented. The scallops dish was particularly good. The service was the best type- friendly, helpful, attentive and aware of the niceties of timing entrees for enjoyment and a leisurely meal. She is a gem. Salle à manger en rénovation. Le repas est servi dans une pièce non aménagée pour donner une ambiance digne des plats du chef. Aucune mise en place…tables carrées dénudées! On nous donne une fourchette et un couteau à notre arrivée. Le serveur s’agenouille près de notre table pour expliquer le menu. Pas d’assiette à pain mais panier de pains, je fais quoi avec mon pain? Pas de bougeoir pour combler l’absence de lumière quand le soleil se couche. Potage figé lorsque servi probablement du au fait que le serveur est aussi à l’accueil de l’auberge. Au menu, un plat de gnocchis et poulet mais non spécifié qu’il sera servi recouvert de parmesan!!!! (Je n’ai pas mangé mon plat, je n’aime pas le parmesan!!) Le dessert est servi sans ustensile…heureusement, le café venait avec une cuillère!! La liste est longue! Je résume: j’ai eu l’impression de manger dans une cafétéria!
