St-Antonin Big Stop Restaurant — Restaurant in Saint-Antonin

Went on Dec 26, 2023 at approx 18:30 - ordered 2 turkey dinners, as we've had them before in various Big Stops in New Brunswick and always enjoyed them.

This time, the food was not edible. Turkey slices were dry and falling apart; in order to reveal the gravy, a 1/8" thick congealed skin had to be removed; carrots/turnip (I think?) vegetable mix was odd texture; mash potato was ice cold; salad was limp and lettuce was army green and certain parts were brown in colour; no stuffing, no cranberry sauce....everything was covered in black pepper to mask the taste of spoiled food? I tasted a few items on my plate and was scared of getting sick. My partner ate his turkey as he was quite hungry.

The server was not at all pleasant from start to finish. She came to our table while chewing food and had to swallow it down before taking our order. After having served us our meal and walked pass our table a few times, she noticed that I was not eating. She asked us what was wrong with out meal (because she obviously thought the meal looked acceptable to consume?), we said that the food was not edible and we had explained to her that we have ordered this exact meal at several Irving Big Stops before and were never served a plate that looked and tasted like this. In an arrogant and condescending tone she answered: " je suis desolee que nous ne servons pas la meme dinde" (I appologize that turkey we serve is not the same)....same turkey? are you joking? I wouldn't serve this meal to my worse enemy!

We were not charged for my plate, which was practically intact, and paid over $27.00 for 1 meal and 2 diet pepsi.

It must be quite some time that this location has been frequented by any of the Irving head office management, because the entire experience was sub-par at best!

If you plan to be awhile and not in a hurry this place is for you! Ordered eggs Ben and wife ordered a small breakfast. Called waitress over after 25mins of waiting, which she didnt come over to check on table as well, only to find out within next 5minutes that it be 10mins. Wife changed order on the spot to poutine and I kept eggs Ben. 38 mins the orders did final come out. Received hard boil eggs ben and fries cold. Sent it back. Wife eat her poutine it was fine. Me, I ordered pizza to go! To show no hard feelings, This took an addition half hour, and had my wife waiting patiently in the car parking lot. Was this act of god or just a bad cook in the kitchen. The waitress where very friendly and service oriented. We travel up and down this routine 4 times a year and I cant remember once food coming out as you ordered. This was our last time stopping there for it delayed an hour of our traveling and food was as good as going to drive thru. Just...

Honest review. Skip this at all cost.

We are East Coasters, so we love a good, big stop meal. We were completely disappointed in every aspect of this visit.

We were the only customers at the time of supper. The server took a few minutes to grab us some water, but we were patient. The server took our order, and then we waited 25 minutes. Expecting the next time we would see her would be with our food. NO.

Our server came out to tell us that the main my fiance ordered they didn't have and to chose something else. If we are the only customers in the restaurant, why is this just coming up now??

Another 20 minutes go by, and our food arrives. My food was cold due to waiting for his food to be made.

All employees were just chatting, laughing in the kitchen. This would not pass on the East Coast. If you are the manager of this restaurant, definitely coach...
