Resto du Sud — Restaurant in Saint-François-de-l'Île-d'Orléans

A cute place that appears to be popular with the locals as well as the tourists, probably because it's the only restaurant at the east end of the island. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. An outstanding number of menu items for such a small place! Food was good but our only complaint today was that, with the exception of the home fries that obviously just came out of the deep fryer, the food was not hot. My vegetable soup was only lukewarm and so were my wife's eggs Benedict. Still a nice dining experience, especially with all the locals present. Made it feel like a cozy small town...

That was my second visit there and was very excited about it but I was very disappointed ! The pizza wasn't as good as the first time ,the dough wasn't cook and I ask the server ( a young girl which was not friendly ) to cook more and she gave me a look ! The salt shaker had meldew on it and told the server and her respond was just leave it on the table ! The service was so bad , no hello , no smile and she never came back to the table to ask if everything was OK! I did not feel welcome and I understand she was very young but she did no effort to make our dinner...

100ième avis pour le Resto du Sud! Chaque été je fais plusieurs fois le tour de l'Île en moto et le Resto du Sud est un arrêt assuré lorsque j'ai faim. Je suis souvent accompagné de un de mes fils et comme je ne peux prendre qu'un seul passager je reviens avec l'autre quelques jours plus tard. Je trouve qu'il est bien situé pour une ballade étant à l'autre bout, soit à mi-chemin, parfait pour une pause et déguster un pain à la viande à l'extérieur tout en admirant le paysage. Là je me dis que la proprio vient de me reconnaître en mentionnant pain à la viande. ;-)

Franchement, je n'ai pas vu beaucoup de casse-croûte offrant un menu avec autant de plats. Bien sûr je prends souvent les mêmes mets mais c'est pour dire qu'il y a plus de choix que certaines grosses bannières donc il y en a pour tous les goûts! Les prix sont très justes.

Ceux qui aiment revisiter des classiques, je vous invite à essayer la poutine...
