This was our second stay at the chalet, which is located just down the hill from the Manoir. I have to say that this place has to be one of the best-kept secrets in Canada! The chalet is well equipped, has a private dock and all the water toys for your pleasure - kayaks, a canoe, pedalo, and an outdoor hot tub. It's very private and the little garden beside the chalet has a table, chairs and a wood fireplace. The lake has a lot of cottages on it but the neighbours (and their boats) were respectful of one's privacy and relative 'boat' size when passing on the lake. Not far from St-Raymond is a 65 km bicycle path - that used to be an old railway line. The incline is gentle, the scenery is just wonderful, there are rest stops with picnic tables, it is patrolled and most amazing is that over the week, I did not see one piece of garbage! Read moreAs I travel for business often and end up mostly in chain hotel, it was nice to find this truly home style alternative.||The owners, that moved to Canada many years ago run this place, which is known locally for their dinner as well.||Each room is really nicely decorated and despite the age of this rustic inn, all room amenities are up to date and modern, from bathroom, flat screen TVs, WiFi, etc.||Amenities include access to it's own private beach, dock, kayaks and padel boats.
