The menu online threw me off! Looks like an old school small mom and pop Greek restaurant menu. Makes you think you’re in for some genuine Greek food. First off, this is not authentic Greek cuisine. Don’t be fooled. I grew up in Park Ex in the 80-90’s, and then in Laval until recently, surrounded by good Greek restaurants. This place is not good, or even close to it. Secondly, gyro is not real gyro, it’s those frozen flat pieces they buy in boxes that tastes like garbage. Genuine fresh gyro like at most Greek places is on a spit, which they slice off in chunks. Thirdly, their pork souvlaki pieces, however well spiced, are not seasoned long enough (most Greek restaurants have cubes seasoned for at least 24 hours - definitely not here), they’re over cooked on top of it, so you might as well be eating rubber. Nothing tender about them. Lastly, they’re overpriced for less than good food; they’re priced like authentic places that serve you authentic, more costly grade food, and time consuming practices that warrant a higher price. I had a souvlaki pita combo at Papa Gerald down the street last week for almost half the price that was better - and it’s a casse croute, not a Greek place lol. Save your money, seriously. Thank God they opened Souvlaki Authentic down the street in Les Coteaux recently. At least the food is genuine and I’d rather pay the 2$ more a plate for good food. EDIT: after inspecting and tasting again I realize their pork souvlaki sticks are from a box to, that’s why they’re not good. It’s not about them not leaving them seasoning long enough. Gotta love these places reheating frozen stuff!...
Read moreMy husband and I happened upon this little restaurant on our way back home from Montreal. My husband and I had the 2 skewers chicken and 2 skewers pork, each having a greek salad, rice, potatoes, & tzaziki sauce. It was a lot of food, and extremely delicious. The young girl that served us was very friendly and the service was very quick. I only wish we lived closer. A quick update. We had ordered a Baklava to-go, which 2 days later I just ate all by myself. Unfortunately for my husband he cannot have walnuts. I wish I could give more than 5-stars for this little restaurant....
Read moreA great spot! Looks like a hole in the wall... a little place where atmosphere is not on the menu. Who cares? They have great food at really good prices and with friendly & bilingual service.
Very small place with, if I recall correctly, about 7 tables. Feel like a great pizza? Try the all dressed plus bacon and onion! Thirsty? Grab a beer with that!
I've been there only four times.... so far... but I'll be...
