La Cantine des Navigateurs inc. — Restaurant in Sainte-Flavie

In early July 2024, we visited this spot hoping for reliably good cod fish and chips at a decent price with beautiful view—and we weren’t disappointed. The dish hit just the right balance: crispy, well‑seasoned fish with golden, fluffy chips.

Fast‑forward to July 2025, and it was practically a different place. We paid $32 for a large fish & chips platter—and what arrived was both inferior in quality and overcooked. The chips were charred and dry, and the fish tasted less fresh.

We also ordered a large poutine ($18.50) and a small onion ring side. Between taxes and tip, the total came to about $70—a bill for a familyof 4. The poutine sauce was overly bitter, the cheese curds noticeably sparse, and the fries soggy within minutes. Few days earlier in Percè best restaurant we paid 30$ with taxes for the same dish with tons of fries. Comparing the service in restaurant with a mere cantin and no services sounded really pricy.

Overall, this visit felt like the clearest sign yet that the quality has slipped while prices keep climbing. It was our last time there—not because we didn’t want to enjoy the place again, but because what we received was simply...

We ate at both the Cantine St-Flavie and here. La Cantine des Navigateurs hands down was the winner. Wow! Their bouillabase and club sandwich aux homards with egg were delicious. Very generous lobster filling, with excellent chips and fries. The tartar sauce for the fish and chips was homemade! The view from the outdoor picnic area was lovely and you can access the beach while waiting for them to call you for your food. The best though was the owner; his smile, jokes and welcome. Highly...

It was ok, but I heard "great", and this is why i decided to visit. I would recommend that shrimps on top of the poutine are served at least warm. I also ordered the fish and chips, but my fish was much too dry, which I dont understand because fresh fish cooked in batter, is usually very moist...I would rate the food 2 starts, but the view is incredibly beautiful and when you visit with children they can play at the beach while you wait...
