My partner has been trying to take me here for a long time since we are vegan/vegetarian and there aren't many good options on the island. I've hesitated because I prefer nutritionally rich food to comfort food. I finally agreed to go when we had guests and it has a nice outdoor atmosphere with some music on a summer night. Food was pretty fast and the service was friendly. The flavours are good, I had the dill tofu burger and liked that I could actually really see and taste fresh dill. Some veggies other than just pickle would have been nice. The amount of salad was disappointing and uneventful, the dressing was nice though. Taters is an odd choice for me, feels like a kids food. For me they didn't compliment the lovely burger. I would prefer a different choice of side. Overall the taste is good but like most fast food/comfort food, left me feeling heavy and nutritionally depleted. Not somewhere to visit often, but...

Phenomenal!!!!!!! What more is there to say? We tried the bbq shroom burger, and love the fact that it came with both a salad and tots. The burger was full of flavour, surrounded by a smoky, slightly spicy, delicious sauce that was amplified by caramelized onions and more mushrooms. We also had iced chai and London fog lattes in their own glasses, and they hit the spot. So smooth.

The atmosphere is quiet, filled with birdsong and you can either sit inside the little greenhouse, at a picnic table under an umbrella or on a log with blankets 😍 (photo included).

We also got some cinnamon buns to go, and they did NOT disappoint. But no photographic evidence, because I forgot about the rest world when I was trying to understand the cream cheese icing. The whole meal didn’t feel vegan and if I didn’t know it was, I’d fight someone to say “there’s no way”. But Ox Eats Grass has found a...

We did not know this was a vegan establishment, and were somewhat apprehensive at first when we saw the options for eggs, but once we took our first bites of our breakfast burritos, that fear was quickly relieved. Tortillas were phenomenal, well structured and large. The fillings were well balanced and were a textural cacophony that invited further bites. Great portion sized and unless ravenous, a pair could likely share a burrito. The only potential area of improvement could be the addition of a vegan chorizo alternative that could add a bit of body, but it’s not a total necessity. Will...

During a recent visit to Saltspring we stumbled upon this place quite by accident after taking a wrong turn and going down a road we didn't intend to, and boy did that work out nicely! We were looking for some lunch and were thrilled to find a vegetarian/vegan place nearby as my partner is vegetarian. Super friendly staff and the food and service were both 10/10. It was definitely the best tofu scramble I've ever had! Tots were super crispy and the chili crunch oil on my eggs was so good! I absolutely recommend taking the time to go out of your way to visit Ox Eats Grass.

Wonderful vegan food truck with hearty comfort food. The food was fresh and flavorful. It was the first time since becoming a vegetarian I felt like I got the delicious BBQ flavor pulled meat sandwiches are known for - excellent texture and taste. Loved that the "for here" food was all served with zero-waste. Come rain or shine - they have covered seating and blankets!
