Craves Poutinerie - Sarnia — Restaurant in Sarnia

This is a hard one to review. I will start out with what I liked about my experience ordering and eating from here, then list what my issues were and why I gave it a lower score.

LIKES: -The burger was amazing, and you can tell it is homemade, not one of those frozen patties like a fast food place; -The gravy on the poutine was amazing; -You get a heaping sized portion if you get a large poutine. I think there are sizes, I could be wrong, but I could not finish even half of mine; -The funnel cake "poutine" (forget it's name) was very delicious -The prices are high, but for the quality of the food and the size portions, it is a very good deal.

DISLIKES: -The younger girl working when we ordered seemed like she was very unhappy to be there. She had, who I assume from the kissing, was her boyfriend sitting at a table while she worked. She would keep going up to him and kissing him. He was only a couple feet away from us, so it was awkward, since she is supposed to be working and was so close to us, kissing; -There is a sign that clearly says that if you buy a combo, you get a free can of pop. I bought a poutine, dessert, and a cheeseburger. I was told that I didn't have a combo. However, there are no "combo's" listed, and they have TONS of pop stacked up behind the counter, plus the full fridge. I spent like $30 there, maybe more. How is this not a combo? The only thing missing is a pop. She was pretty unhelpful and borderline rude; -Because the portions are so big, the fries get cold fast. There is nothing worse than cold French fries. Even if you microwave them, it's not the same. Be prepared to throw food away if you don't eat a lot; -It is located far from where I live, so I probably won't be going often; -The funnel cake fries were good, however, much too sweet to eat very much of it.

Ok, this was the most disgusting thing I’ve had in a very long time. I’m very disappointed. I ordered through uber and my order was a disaster, there was gravy absolutely everywhere. I know this is the fault of Uber’s lack of care and didn’t have anything to do with the restaurant, and I left my review on Uber. I ordered the Mac & Cheese cheeseburger and their classic poutine. I asked on the order notes for extra cheese curds, and when I opened my poutine, there was barely any cheese at all. The Poutine was cold on the top and I tried mixing it because the bottom was hot and everything was a soggy mess. The gravy itself tasted OK but I will absolutely never order a poutine from this place again. I could only stomach to eat a 1/4 of it and the rest is in the garbage. Horrible. The Mac N Cheese burger had zero flavour. The hamburger patty itself tasted good, but the mac & cheese buns had absolutely no flavour and is very bland and it was already falling apart before I tried anything. I had to use a knife, fork. I only ate about half of the top, Mac and cheese bun and just a few bites of the burger itself. Horrible. Whatever oil they use for frying isn’t good. I ordered from here because it’s new and because it had relatively good reviews I highly recommend staying away from the Mac and cheeseburger and their regular poutine. I’m not a fan of the fancy poutine anywhere and I just like a classic poutine. My order was an absolute mess. I will never eat here again and I won’t recommend it to anyone. I can’t believe I spent that much money on something that I couldn’t stomach, except for the hamburger patty itself. I don’t even know the last time I had such a bad order. If you've ever been the kind of person to go to a fair and look for the poutine place, you've found it - but better! 3 different screens (50" tvs) with poutine options are displayed and there's a 4th for the rest of the menue. It's like all your favorites from poutine feasts, but under one roof and for a much better price.

I was also impressed with how quickly I was served - the young woman behind the counter was incredibly quick, knowledgeable, friendly and polite! The food came out much quicker than I expected as well, and the portion sizes (including the items that make up the flavour of the poutine I ordered) were quit fair!
