2nd review update, below is the original review from 4 years ago.
We once again were not disappointed by the amazing service and quality of food. We were staying at Beaver Glen campground, and due to 4 bears entering our site, we decided to eat out. Despite being in sweat pants and dirty from camping, the staff treated us like we had been dressed to the 9s. They understood our situation and went above and beyond to make us feel cared for, welcomed, and respected. Including both our dogs! Garry the one owner sat with us, and gave our pups treats. Once again, we had the lamb and also the salmon. See photos. To all staff and owners, thank you again for the best Waskesui experience. We will always be back. Every year!
I have always said...you get what you pay for! This restaurant is a MUST EXPERIENCE!!!!
I want to thank all the Staff..and I mean the entire staff. Everyone there was friendly, accommodating, and above and beyond with customer service.
I feel we paid a reasonable price for the high end food and service we received.
How many places do you know that can serve a soft, cooked to exact perfection steak? Chef and staff...I cant say enough about just how impressed we are! Hands down the best meal I have ever had!
WOW...SEE YOU ALL WHEN WE ARE...
Read moreWe come every year, and are happy to be semi-regulars. It's a great restaurant in the National Park and should be enjoyed by all.
That said, having been the last 4+ years it's disappointing that the menu doesn't change much. It's great to see new wines, but their markup is outrageous ($85 on a $21 bottle of rose). Also, running out of the porterhouse (their marquee steak) by 7 on a Saturday in July is the kitchen's fault and shouldn't happen. I happily ordered the steak and lobster feature instead (but was still a little bummed to be subbing a 24oz steak for an 8oz one), and got the last bits of lobster that were left in the kitchen it seems. It was a paltry amount of lobster (I wasn't expecting an entire lobster tail on it, I literally got three pieces of claw meat on top of my steak). It was tasty, but at $75 it's not unreasonable to expect a little extra. My wife's pasta was excellent, the tableside Caesar was excellent as well.
Will we give it another shot when we come next year? With the Post looking great, we're happy to see some competition that might give Pietro a much-needed kick of inspiration. We'll give them a year to see if...
Read moreWe visited Pietro's in Waskesiu to celebrate my best friends engagement. We had a lovely server who was very attentive. Having worked in the hospitality industry in the past she was a great server. I ordered the margarita, which was very yummy. My girlfriend ordered the Saskatoon Berry Cocktail, (not worth it). Our food came very quickly despite it being a Saturday night. Although our food was fast, the food quality was very disappointing. I ordered the special (7oz New York Striploin which came with a potato and some seasonal vegetables. Costed $58 for a steak that was covered in fat. My beets were too hard to eat. We had a gentleman come by and ask how our food was, so I told him the truth. I've had far better, for way less and all he did was clear my plate and offer dessert. I am sorry but that is not customer service. My friend has the lobster spaghettini, which again was mediocre at best. We were recommended this restaurant and boy what a disappointment it was. For the price, I would...
