On our way back from Niagara Falls we decided to try out this restaurant for the first time. Upon getting there we were a little confused as to where the entrance was for the building as it showed an exit sign to the right of it but no entry point. We finally figured out we had to go around to the front it. Once arriving there there seemed to be a number of people there and the sound of a live band playing. We had to wait to get up the stairs and you were required to fill your name and phone number in a book for contract tracing which was great. We ordered two fish and chips platters. The wait was a little long but we understand good food takes time and they were quite busy. While waiting I used the bathroom. Upon sitting on the toilet I got a completely soaked bottom, this started my annoyed mood. On top of that the bathroom didn’t not appear that it had been cleaned for awhile, there was toilet paper on the floors and all around a dirty look. Once returning to the car I noticed they gave me someone else’s order;however this order was full to the brim which was refreshing. However, I was not impressed by the fact I waited that long and was given the wrong order and returned immediately to have my order corrected. Upon walking back in the one lady seemed genuinely shocked/upset but the original girl who took my order didn’t seem to care much and was making excuses/a joke out of it which annoyed me more then I already was. Upon recieving my food finally I realized that the portion size was no where near what the other order was, I don’t know if this was due to them now rushing my order out, or if it was due to me not being a local however it was quite the slap in my face after ever. Now, with that said, in regards to the food, it was to completely die for! The pieces of fish were actually very big, super crispy, fresh and juicy, and well worth the money! Best fish, chips and coleslaw I have ever had in my life and I grew up on fish and chips; just wish I would have got the same amount of fries as the previous order. The atmosphere was warm and cozy and even watching them make a peach daiquiri made me want one. Only reason for the 4 star review was due to the mixup, what I felt was a lack of care from the waiter despite me waiting 20 minutes prior and then having to wait again, and the fact that they clearly gave me less food then what they had given the...

Ownership & staff should be embarrassed......

This was a miserable experience for our last night at the cottage..... I recommend driving a little further to Lock 31 in Buckhorn.

We arrived to a busy restaurant... we were told patio was full but dining inside was an option.

We (group of 6... 2 adults, 2 teens and 2 Littles.. ) were seated at a booth inside.

15 minutes went by and our "waitress" came to take our order... noticed we had NO menus.... rushed away... came back with menus... forgot kid menus... came back with kid menus... then left again...

10 min later

Came back with half our drinks.... and took our food order.

10 minutes later

I went to bar to get drinks for our children.

20 minutes later.... patience of children and family are at a minimum... we have yet to be served anything..

Loud, obnoxious and over served "regulars" took priority while we sat and waited... maybe I should have crossed my eyes and acted drunk?!... would have got a better response...

I went to ask bar tender what was going on... our "waitress" appears at the bar and asked if everything was OK... I replied that we should have been turned away at the door if they were unable to provide service.

Bartender returned while I was there talking to our "waitress" about my disappointment... only to inform us the food was NOT in yet and would be an undetermined amount of time....

What do you even say to this?!?

I have a family with little ones who waited over an hour to be told that the place was understaffed and we were offered an empty apology....

I was told by one of the staff that they were understaffed.... why accept the guests?

I asked to speak with ownership... was given a card.. called it and it didn't work. Lady said it was because they leave the phone off the hook.... I asked for Owners information....

Karina is apparently her name... staff wouldn't give contact information and told me to go to Google instead.... so here I am...

Spend your money elsewhere.... you will get better service at Lock 31. They actually invest in their business....

A lack of options... would be the ONLY reason I see this...

If you’re the kind of person who thinks stunning waterfront views can make up for flavorless food, then congratulations — you’ve found your happy place.

Let’s start with the “chicken parm,” and I use that term loosely. It tasted like it was dragged out of a high school cafeteria tray line — dry, sad, and completely uninspired. The Greek salad dressing? Straight from Walmart’s bargain shelf. I'm pretty sure I’ve seen the exact bottle labeled “Greek Feta” in aisle 3.

The roast beef dip sandwich was another tragic tale — rubbery, bland beef that tasted like it had been boiled in plain water, possibly as a punishment. This wasn’t roast beef. This was “ghost of a cow” beef.

Now to be fair, the beer was cold and drinkable. But let’s be honest, if you mess up beer, you should be arrested.

The final bill? $117. For what? A postcard-worthy view and food that made me nostalgic for airplane meals. Maybe they’re charging extra for the waterfront air?

Bottom line: come for the scenery, stay for the... beer. Eat beforehand. Or...

For a place with an amazing atmosphere, great and friendly service, good reviews I was really disappointed with the food quality. The garlic bread was overcooked, no garlic flavor, burnt on the bottom/edges, cheese overcooked. The Mac and cheese I couldn't eat. It was like a big bowl of cheese slope, blended in a blender, then microwaved, poor flavoring, no additions like crumbs or color. Maybe my expectations were high from working at a restaurant but I'd never serve food like this and personally I don't even think it looks visibly appealing. My friend ordered the wrap and tortilla and found they were both good and said "safe options". Super disappointing especially spending $100+ in the end for 2 people however I can't speak for the other items, burgers, etc. The service was great and the staff very accommodating and friendly. Being this close to the water, the view and staff really saved the quality and price of the food for what you get.

Visited here today for a lunch on our way to the beach. Love the location and vibe, staff was extremely friendly and engaging. I was having trouble deciding between the brisket sandwich and the Reuben. The brisket was displayed in the menu as tender cuts of rare smoked brisket on a crusty bun smothered in sauteed onions, our server said it's very popular. I ordered it and a large fry and my partner had a chicken crunch sandwich. The fries I'm afraid were the common battered Cavendish equivalent, and my sandwich was considerably smaller than the menu depiction, served on a ciabotta bun, and contained two slices of extremely well done rubbery 'brisket" which was more like roast beef. May try again one day but not impressed with the food for the price. The french fries were 12 dollars, probably close to what an commercial sized bag at wholesale club costs. The brisket sandwich was 16$.
