CAPTAINS GRILL DINER INC. — Restaurant in Severn

Well I just had what is likely one of the best burgers I've had during my burger eating career (See aerial photo) lol and it wasn't at all a surprise. I've been to the Captains Grill several times but because the Philly steak&cheese was so awesome the first time I have found it difficult to delve into the extremely varied menu but today I tried the bacon/cheese burger and it was as good as any homemade burger you'll find anywhere but at a roadside eatery? Yes!!! if you long for something made with love and the freshest ingredients (which counts OUT!!! the inexplicably busy place just north of Orillia) the place that locals like myself would never spend a nickel in but if you want something light or you are very hungry the Captains Grill scores a homerun from the fast and friendly customer service to the absolutely amazing burgers,chicken, poutine and many other hunger quelling choices. Do yourself and whoever might be with you a favor and don't wait to eat a mediocre (at best) burger just north of Orillia but rather as you pass the last exit coming out of Orillia heading north on hwy #11 look for and do not pass the CAPTAINS GRILL you will not be disappointed or hungry after you make the choice and once you stop once it will become something that'll you'll look forward to everytime your heading north out of...

Food was overpriced but edible. Service was not as friendly as I'd expected. The place is really small inside. They also false advertise on patio season being open. My hubby, son, and myself went on a beautiful sunny day, we wanted to be on patio as big sign in front of restaurant stated patio season, and yet patio was closed. The bathroom was dirty and had cobwebs with dust collected on them. Would not recommend and won't go back. It's really unfortunate that a locally owned diner has franchise restaurant prices. The locally owned restaurant I serve/work at is better priced, and you get more for your buck. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I am truly disappointed as I like supporting...

My wife and I have been here many times over the last month. We love the food, prices were great. One day they made a mistake on my dinner when I ordered spaghetti. They had put chili on the spaghetti instead of meat sauce. They had offered to remake the meal for me or to give it to me for free. I decided to take the spaghetti and man I'll tell you that dish was awesome. I had suggested they add that to the menu! And yes the Chili is wonderful, very meaty. The only thing I would like to see is more variety in the daily soups, for a while it just seemed to be a tomato or chicken soup. I would highly recommend this place.
