L'Olivia table gourmande — Restaurant in Shawinigan

It's a nicer enough place. The menu is quite minimal, not much choices, but I guess that's how they work. We were aware of that before going, so I cannot complain. We shared a charcuterie starter, which was good. I had duck for mains, which was really good. My partner had the beef bavette. That was really bad. Overcooked and hard, not very tasty. Refined menu: we chose a house-made naan starter, and then a special short rib of beef dish and an assortment of fresh shellfish (mussels, scallops, crabmeat…) on black wild rice. Dessert was a pistachio-based slice of cake that hit the sweet tooth!

Wait staff were pleasant and efficient.

If you want a very nice meal in a place where it is t always easy to find - this is it.

Amazing location in the middle of nowhere, food was amazing, and staff was exceptional, we rarely have the time to enjoy an evening as a couple without kids, and I guess they sensed it.
