Le Shack à Joe — Restaurant in Shippagan

We went to le Shack a Joe after a visit to the aquarium. I had seen it advertised on a facebook contest and was curious to try it out since we were in town.

It's a quaint little place with picnic benches outside for those who prefer eating outdoors. Inside there's 4 tables and a bathroom. It's fairly small but it's not meant to sit a lot of people indoors. You order inside and are given a beeper that let's you know when your order is ready. You can either pick it up inside or at the window outsitde. The menu has options for everyone.

We got a family sized donair poutine which was plenty for my husband, myself and our 3 year old, we even had some leftovers to bring home. It came with two small portions of donair sauce but the two could have filled one container so we felt they could have been a bit more generous. The poutine itself was absolutely delicious. Home made fries, delicious brown gravy and cheese curds, topped with slices of donair meat. The flavor balance was just right. I look forward to visiting again and will definitely be...

I would recommend to come here for the the seafood, I'm pretty sure it's their specialty. I had the whole fried clams and they were amazing as well as the homemade tartar sauce. The homemade fries are delicious and so is their poutine! First time I went there they forgot to put gravy on my poutine and they didn't give me tartar sauce. I sent a message to their facebook page and they send me a gift certificate for more money than I actually spent!(great!) On my day of vacation adventures, I drove by Joe's. Decided to try it, so I turned around. The young lady that took my order was polite and was bilingual..bonus! I wanted to try a donair and had a side of potato wedge poutine. The donair was amazing and so was the poutine. The quantity of the food was well worth the money as was the quality. I like the fact that they give you a pager to let you know that your order is ready. That way you are not in the elements or feeding mosquitoes. Genius! I do not regret...
