We were on our way from New Denver to Vancouver when we decided to take a pit stop at this cute cafe located on the way to the Slocan viewpoint. Some owners of places themselves are so great that you already know that the food is going to be awesome. I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of things and fresh produce this owner served along with the burgers we took inspite of being there just before spring when the roads still had snow over them. The curly fries that they make in house were amazing along with the teriyaki chicken and Cajun chicken burgers we had. I tasted the borscht soup as well and it was really nice. Plus the owner lady gave us some extra house made gravy to go with the curly fries. In our 45 mins spent there , the owner must have come atleast 10 times to ask if we were okay. Amazing hospitality! Read moreThe owner is a happy, helpful small business owner. My riding buddy and I arrived 30minutes before opening time on Saturday July 6, and she made us feel right at home. We had our coffee and ordered breakfast, which was really great. Before long, while sitting outside, we could smell our meals being cooked. Two other guys arrived and they also were met with open arms. We had time to hear about her three grown kids and she was a proud mom. If I lived in Slocan, I would like to get to know her.
