If you’re looking for a home cooked meal, this Deffently isn’t the place anymore. After the business was sold it has not been the same and continues to go down hill daily. very poor quality food, the waitress is very hard to understand and makes the experience very awkward. The old owner and MOM restaurant was known for the old fashion gravy and top quality home cooking on time, every time, now it’s all out of a box and awful. We had visited the restaurant this afternoon and ordered soup to start, the soup was warmed up from frozen which was not hot and fresh by any means. They brought us two different orders to our table that we did not order. Clearly she cannot understand or listen to customers which is very frustrating and is not the ideal person for the job. Finally our order came and the Greek wrap was saturated in oil we couldn’t even eat it. Our poutine came with cold gravy out of an box and the wrong cheese we had asked for. When we had mentioned to her it was wrong she had a hard time understanding and when she had corrected the order it came and was worst then the original poutine we had got, needless to say make the trip to town or harrowsmith and do not dine here. I have been before and we didn't overly care for it but being a believer in 2nd chance. However, unfortunately it was no better the 2nd time. First it was unbearably hot in restaurant. Another guy who left ahead of us and seemed like a regular mentioned to them thay its always so hot in their which he basically got ignored. 2nd off fish wasn't cooked very well. Give us one tiny tarter sauce for a big piece of fish so we asked for another one, no problem. Neither of us could finish our fish as it wasn't overly pleasant. Never had our waitress come back to ask us how it was. It wasn't even busy. Aside from the two of us they had two other tables to serve, I would have to see it they were ever busy. Since she never came back we went up to the counter. Explained that our fish was not pleasant and not overly cooked. No apologies or asked how they could fix it, just wrote us up our bill. The new owners kept the old menu but lack the required skills to execute the recipes. I grew up in Verona. I used to eat there every week and had every birthday there. I know from experience what the meals on the menu are intended to taste like. They do not do them justice. If you go to “Moms” restaurant now, just know that you aren’t getting the full experience and sadly, will never get it.

I feel the best thing the new owners could have done was change the menu and include recipes they can actually make properly. It’s almost insulting tasting my favourite childhood meal poutine now. A simple meal such as fries, cheese and gravy and they can’t even make it without overcooking the fries or (at least this is what it tastes like) using old, already cooked fries, reheated.

Overall opinion: change the menu and pick recipes that your staff will actually execute. Along with the name. It’s painful to see “MoMs” and know the food, well,...
