I was very disappointed to find The Stand closed during what should be peak hours on a busy long weekend. I had planned my trip expecting to get a meal here, and unfortunately, there were no other food options available at the terminal. Many other travelers were similarly caught off guard, and it was clear that the lack of food service created significant frustration. Given the number of people relying on this ferry route, it’s surprising and disappointing that no provisions were made to ensure food availability during high-traffic times. I hope BC Ferries and the operators of The Stand can work together to prevent this kind of situation in the future. A simple notice, schedule, or even alternative arrangements would have gone a long way.

Good food and vegetarian options, nice staff and convenient ferry location! Prices are good for ferry options! Fried Avocado wedges are a hit.

Old RV turned kitchen with window service. Pretty good menu, excellent prices, fair value. Great customer service!

Accessible from inside the Otter Bay ferry terminal, this mom&pop operation offers up some great home cooked fare from the converted RV-come-restaurant. The prices may seem a bit steep at first (but remember it is an isolated community and everything is ferried over), but the portion size and quality of the food make the price worthwhile -- plus, while you are waiting for the infrequent ferry sailings, 'where else are ya gonna go'?

The owners, even when busy, still take the time to put the customer first, and will even run a last minute order out to a vehicle as it is boarding the ferry! :-)

Well worth the cost...

Burger was tasty and ingredients seemed to be fresh, including crunchy lettuce. I overheard them talking about when to cook my onion rings so that everything came out fresh at the same time which I appreciated.

As others have mentioned, the prep time is slow. I waited about 20-25 minutes so make sure you have enough time. That said, they’re two people working in a converted motor home so all things considered I thought it...
