The food was delicious, the ambiance was lovely, and the views over the grounds are gorgeous, but the service was what topped it all to be an exceptional experience. Our server was lovely and split up the chowder that we ordered for our kids to share into separate bowls without us having to even ask. The manager came out and gave our two kids toys to keep them happy before food arrived, and that is every parent's dream at a restaurant, we could then relax and enjoy our meal and drinks and also not feel like our kids were anything short of fully welcome! We had dinner at Woodstone Restaurant on a day trip to Galiano Island during the summer. They have a nice patio with a view of the farm/forest. You may spot a few horses during your dinner! The seafood chowder was highly recommended so I had that as my entree. The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. There were jumbo prawns, fish, mussels and clams. I enjoyed the taste of the broth as well. For dessert, they had a special Japanese style cheesecake which was light and fluffy and accompanied with ice cream, a sprinkle of nuts, and edible flowers. Would absolutely be a 5/5 if it's weren't for the wasps. You will almost certainly be visited by them while you dine, even if you sit inside. They should leave you alone if you leave you alone but you know, they're wasps, you never know.
