I had preordered here and dropped in to pick it up. While I was there I decided to pick some other items up. The staff person who was helping me was new. When I gave him the new purchases and asked for my order he had to ask the manager for assistance (as he didn't know the process for pickup). The manager said she would help "but I have to do this first" and proceeded to call up 2 women who were sitting at a table finishing lunch. The women weren't ready and scrambled to come to the cash. I became annoyed as my transaction was completely pushed aside for the other customers. A senior staff person was standing to the side and said "sorry he is new" which was fine but that didn't explain the manager. Once the transaction was done the manager rang in my bars and the pricing came up wrong - I was buying 5 but it wasn't giving me the "buy multiple" discount. I explained the price was wrong and she went on to explain how the pricing worked. To which I identified that the pricing was for the collections and I was supposed to pay $25.95 for the 5 bars. She said the system wasn't updated and would have to phone "Bonnie" later to fix it and had to do an override. She did the override and I was told the price - which was still wrong- and I paid it and asked for my receipt. In the end I paid $29.66 (plus tax) when it should have been $25.95. I went to the side to get my pickup order - the senior staff who observed the transaction and previously apologized gave me my order. I said to him that the pricing on my order was still wrong. He said "sorry" but did nothing about it.
Overall the experience was one of the worst I've had. The manager was correcting an issue and made it equally wrong - a manager pushed aside a customer to server a different customer - the pricing in the system is wrong and a senior staff person becomes aware of everything that is happening wrong and does nothing to correct it. In the end the "Sundance" bar I ate on the way home was also grainy. Not the best experience I've...
Read moreNoticed the Newfoundland chocolate bars at the museum The Rooms and another souvenir shop in downtown and saw there is a whole big ass store dedicated to their chocolate on Tobay St. so of course we had to go check it out!!
The staff there are so nice and helpful especially Jeff. He answered our questions and gave good suggestions.
They have so many items to choose from, a chocolate fountain and a huge kitchen in the back. They also have gelato, cookies, muffins, lots of drinks and more.
We ordered a quiet cove and jigs n’ reels hot chocolate. Both were good but on the sweet side. The ginger cookie is soft and yummy & shortbread heart cookie was delicious and not too sweet.
We bought a bunch of other items as gifts to bring home. Definitely a must to stop in and check it out of you are...
Read moreGreat products, love the chocolate waterfall and the oompa loompas. Great to support a Newfoundland based company. The CAA discount was great too. I would for sure come back for a tour. Must visit place in Newfoundland. I found out about their chocolate as it was one of the welcome gifts at the Sheraton Hotel in St John's. The chocolate was soooo good we just had to check out the stores. We went to the main store & the one in the Avalon mall. Workers at both locations were very friendly and offered chocolate samples. Also sat down for a hot chocolate at this location so it has a nice cafe vibe more than...
