At Smitty's, the service emanated warmth and friendliness, although it regrettably faltered in efficiency. While the staff greeted us with genuine hospitality, the delays in taking orders and addressing our needs left us waiting longer than expected.
The ambiance at Smitty's exudes coziness and warmth, providing an inviting backdrop for a meal. However, the lack of background noise was noticeable, detracting from the overall atmosphere. Introducing soft background music could greatly enhance the dining experience.
Regarding the food, our experience left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the dishes we tried were surprisingly bland, failing to tantalize the taste buds. Moreover, the portion sizes were shockingly small. The "farmers sausage" dish, in particular, was a glaring example of this: a single sausage cut into four pieces felt more like an illusion of a hearty meal rather than the real deal. Compared to similar-priced alternatives like Denny's, where portions are ample and flavors robust, Smitty's offerings fell short.
In summary, while Smitty's offers friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere, its sluggish service, underwhelming food quality, and skimpy portion sizes make it a less-than-ideal dining option. With the "farmers sausage" servings feeling more like a rip-off than a satisfying meal, it's advisable to seek out other establishments for a more fulfilling culinary experience. Additionally, it's worth noting that the shredded hash browns were severely undercooked, further detracting from the overall...
Read moreSmitty’s has always been a safe choice for me no matter what city I’m in. But today’s breakfast was…awful. The server was friendly, but seemed too much in a hurry to ask about choices that came with my meal. The one choice he did ask—how I want my egg done…I responded over medium. It came sunny side up…easy?…leaving the white part of the egg snotty and uncooked next to the jiggly yellow, yet the base of the fried egg was so overly cooked that it was too rubbery to chew. The hashbrowns were old and dried out that I ended up just spitting out the cardboard pieces after a while. If it wasn’t for the hollandaise it wouldn’t have been too dry to masticate. The sauce, thankfully, also covered the taste of old cooked bacon. As the server was walking away from taking my order, I made my request for bread choice and he seemed in such a rush I unfortunately forgot to also ask for shredded hashbrowns. The server didn’t come by to check how the meal was until I was finished eating, even though I had put the snot and cardboard on a piece of napkin I had to rip off the only napkin available. The toast was burnt and left a burnt after taste. Plus, the music sounded like South Park was doing cover songs. Weird. Needless to say, the undercooked eggs lead me straight to the bathroom. What a shame. Not the best $25+parking experience. I won’t be back to...
Read moreVery disappointing. Three of us ordered breakfast. Two of us found a hair in our pancakes when the food arrived. We were offered another meal but at that point our appetites were no longer. The guest with no hair obviously lost their appetite as well so didn't eat this meal either. The server said she took the 2 meals off but still charged us for the one meal without hair plus our orange juice. I told her I was shocked they charged me anything given the experience. She agreed and tore up the bill. We had seen a manager at the restaurant a few minutes prior to our food arriving but after that experience not one person came to apologize or even acknowledge the issue. We obviously will not go back but how can you have this happen at your restaurant without at least acknowledging it?? Disappointed because I had always enjoyed breakfast at Smittys...
