A&W Canada — Restaurant in St. John's

The food is your basic A&W fare pretty consistent with all other A&W's. It is a popular place for breakfast all week long attracting regular groups of seniors who come for breakfast or a coffee and some social time. The staff like most fast food operations changes pretty often but are generally good and friendly. My only real problem with this location is the facility needs to be upgraded as it is dated and worn.. Bathrooms are generally clean but dingy and in need of upgrade. The building was initially opened as an Arby's that was only open a couple of years and has pretty much stayed the same ever since. In the same time the Macdonald's across the street has been upgraded twice and is currently closed for upgrades. It's a busy location so not sure why no investment...

I've been having my morning coffee from this location for about a month now and have to say every coffee I've had is absolutely the worst coffee I've ever drank in my life. Which is really unfortunate because a&w coffee is usually pretty good, specifically most any of the other locations around the city, just so happen I live next to the Torbay road location and they can't brew coffee to save their life.

It almost tastes as if they're either reusing the coffee grounds or not cleaning the machine? I can't quite put my finger on it.

Anyway, if you want coffee, go to Tim's. Otherwise everything else at this location is good, breakfast sandwiches are always great, just their coffee is...

The worst experience ever! Will never go back to this A&W. Burger was bright pink in the middle. They messed up order at drivethru. The Manager was rude. He refunded the price of one Root Beer we were overcharged for but argued with me as to why the burger was pink. Refused to replace it or refund. Nice when a manager could not care less about a customer's experience. I left it sitting on counter as not about to eat the rest of it but I should have kept it to submit to the Health and Safety Department. I will be asking for a Health Inspector to visit anyway. Do not visit this location unless you want to risk...
