A&W Canada — Restaurant in St. John's

The wait time at this A&W can be slightly lengthier than average - especially during weekdays at lunch hour. The food is always great though. They never miss with the beyond meat burger or the fries.

I have found that the onion rings and the sweet potato fries are poor in quality more often than not. They just lack overall flavor and are soggy. The chipotle mayo is always a good way to add to the flavor if you like some smoky zest.

I have went through the drive-thru once at this location, and it wasn't great in terms of efficiency. The attendant asked me to pull up next to the curb in front of the restaurant and wait. There were no vehicles behind me and there is also very little space to pull over and wait after leaving the drive-thru. It just seemed like an abnormal request; given that there was no lineup and little space on the main drag of the lot. It's always easier (and faster) to go in...

I recently had an awesome experience at the A&W location on 40 White Rose. The restaurant is exceptionally clean and tidy, which immediately made a great impression. I wanted to order through the app to find some good deals, and when Gillian noticed I was struggling, she went out of her way to help me. Thanks to her assistance, I got a fantastic meal. The food was hot and tasty, and the smoothie was perfect, made with an impressive new technology machine.

A huge shoutout to Caelan, Arianne, Gillian, Kira, and Katie for their friendliness and for making my experience truly wonderful. I am absolutely impressed and will definitely be coming back!

My boyfriend and I went at 9pm to get something to eat, so a full hour before they were stopping dine in for the evening. The employee at the register was counting money in her registers already and was visibly annoyed with us when we walked in. My boyfriend repeated our order 5 times correcting her before she got it in right. She only handed us one drink when we paid for two. She only nodded when I went back up to ask for the second mug and finished counting coins before getting it for me, and didn’t apologize or acknowledge me in any way. She had no manners, said they couldn’t do poutine at that time of night, and the fries and onion rings we had were cold and undercooked.
