Authentic Mexican for Newfoundland. The queso was thick, mixed with beans, and had cold tomatoes topped on. The salsa was great, basically chopped tomatoes with seasoning, but still very tasty. The chicken flautas were mixed with cream cheese and fried to perfection. Really a must try. The enchiladas (Mexican Flag)were each uniquely made and full of flavor. The Pollo Con Chili Verde was juicy and delicious, albeit missing the salsa verde. The sides (rice and beans) were a letdown, rice was flavorless and the beans were overcooked. You get this delicious mound of barbacoa, which was absolutely mouthwatering and redeemed the sides.(Seriously, give me a plate with that and a couple of tortillas!) All and all, authentic as can be for the tip of the continent. Being from Texas, I’m very happy this place exists. Will absolutely be back to try the other dishes.

Our experience at Casa Amigos was above and beyond last night. The bartender, Abel, put on a great show that included juggling bottles. We had a margarita and an espresso martini and they were so good. Our meal came out fast and hot. We had a cod taco but changed it to be on a hard shell. It was the best I have had in the city without a doubt. For our main we shared the enchiladas. For dessert we had a chocolate mousse cake that was perfectly fluffy and not too rich. To top it all off, the owner made us coffees, decorated beautifully. The entire evening was a 12/10!

Me and my friend went out to an early dinner here. We both had the birra tacos. The food was amazing, so authentic, and very filling. We both had a tropical mocktail that tasted just like being on a beach. John also gave us a free sample of Spanish coffee and put little designs on each. Able and John served us and made sure we were very comfortable with everything. Great little spot that definitely needs more recognition!

If you ever find yourself on a steep hill, feeling a little lost and in need of a culinary miracle, look no further—this hidden gem is waiting for you! We stumbled upon this place completely by accident, and let me tell you, it was a very happy accident. A cozy little hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant that might be hard to find, but once you do, you’ll feel like you've won the lottery.

We indulged in wings, quesadillas, and steak fajitas that could only be described as heavenly. And the margaritas? Oh my god, the margaritas. We went for the pitcher, because why not? It was Valentine’s redo, and we were determined to have a good time after a less-than-pleasant dining experience the night before.

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: ABLE, the bartender. This man is pure charisma in human form. He made us feel like VIPs the moment we walked in, and he didn’t just serve us drinks—he entertained us. We even got a free shot (which, honestly, I think was his way of testing our limits). And then, the most unexpected and wonderful thing happened—he made me a churro martini on the house. At that moment, I realized I was living my best life.

Everything about this place was perfect. The food, the drinks, the vibe—heck, even the steep hill it’s perched on feels like part of the charm. If you choose not to eat here, well, you’re the idiot. Go ahead, let your loss be our gain, because this place is an absolute treasure. ABLE, if you’re reading this, I’ll be back. And I’ll probably be bringing a few more friends with me.

10/10. A+ service. Highly recommend. You...

My wife and I enjoyed a very wonderful meal on early Saturday evening on August 16th.

We did try to go there a few weeks ago, but unfortunately we were turned away at the door due to the restaurant being fully booked, but we completely understand and we made sure that the next time we tried to go there that we made reservations first. If you want to make sure you get table, there is no harm in booking a reservation first.

My wife and I ordered a bunch of different items on the menu and tried each other's food and with regards to the food we never had one bad meal. We had everything from their wings, chili, tomato bisque, taquitos, fries, and their braised beef tacos and everything exceeded our expectations. Major compliments to the dry spice they used on their wings and their fries which made them super delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly and very welcoming. One of people there, John was incredibly kind and respectful and engaged with us with a really wonderful conversation about the restaurant and I hope they continue to do well with regards to business.

One of the waitresses was from mexico city and with my wife and I making plans to go to Cancun in January 2026, she imparted some really wonderful recommendations about fun things to do in Mexico and how to avoid the local spicy mexican food.

I highly recommend anybody to give their food an honest try because there are certainly plenty of options and they are...

Easily one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in years.

We went to Casa Amigos to surprise a friend for her 30th birthday. It was a great option simply because there were three people in our group with Celiac disease, and we've heard they have lots of great gluten-free options!

This was my first time there and I was genuinely so surprised, particularly by the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. They cleared out the top floor for us and allowed us to set up decorations for a friend's birthday, and even helped us decorate! They all seemed to have fun with our little surprise plan too. And our server, Abel, was the best part. He was so kind and thoughtful and incredibly fun!! He made us special drinks and even did a juggling show for us! I havent had that much fun in such a long time. Plus the food was incredible, and we even got to meet the chef for a moment! The team there seems like a little family and they welcome you into that family as soon as you walk in the door. So grateful for this experience ❤️

I have been recommending it to everyone I can and cannot wait to go back again! Thank you...
