I went in today and ordered the usual Turkey Avacado wrap and I can’t seem to not be upset of how unwelcome myself and my two children felt. One is 16 and one is 3. I normally just ignore the usual type of clientele they normally have which isn’t the friendliest , however I did enjoy the Turkey Avacado wraps I normally order. The two waitresses that were working were so cold. Not an expression , not a smile, nothing. The waitress with the short bangs it was pretty much to be expected because she always makes me feel as if my presence is unwanted. ( I only tip for good service remember that.) I don’t feel I was rude but when I approached the counter as I though we had to pick up the food, she appear very abrupt and stared sternly and asked what I wanted. Three times she did this so finally I just shook my head and walked away. I had to return to the cash to make another purchase for my 3 year old and I asked another waitress if the other girl was a manager or supervisor and she didn’t even speak to me and walked away! I guess I’m not big enough of a tipper if you know what I mean but I sure make generous purchases in that establishment so the least they can do is not treat me like I’m of a lower class we shall say?! When I finally got my food I thanked the waitress and she looked at me and turned her head away in discust? ( a new girl I found out today who also needs to work on her customer service skills). That is how I interpreted her facial expressions. I was so discusted and upset myself and to make matters worse my daughter hauled a long hair out of the wrap. The girl that served me her hair was not tied back. I walked up to the counter and informed them of the hair but I told they need not to worry because I wasn’t asking for the mine back. They never spoke or responded. I returned to my table and my family and I packed up the salvageable food and left because I have never in my life felt so unwelcome when walking into a restaurant! How unprofessional and I do not feel I did anything to deserve that treatment but it isn’t the first time this has happened there and I have friends that refuse to go there anymore because they too felt they were unwelcomed by the staff. Not all the staff are like this. The young man with shoulder length hair is quite nice and pleasant but the chick with the short bangs and the other one are not so nice. I’ve worked as a waitress myself many years ago and they have a lot to learn when it comes to provide excellent...
Read moreLong story short, I ordered a couple plant based cookies under the impression they were vegan and mentioned my egg allergy. Two minutes later I was puking in the bathroom.
Longer read: It was a totally valid mistake for the product to somehow contain eggs - these are things outside of our control. When I let the staff know to pull or relabel them as not plant based products, they agreed to relay the information to other staff and double check the ingredients. They concluded that it was a "may contain" item and I stated that this batch most definitely had too much of the egg allergen- it wasn't plant based. That being said, I understand it wasn't their intention to cause this inconvenience.
Later, my partner asked for a tea on the house to soothe my symptoms, but while we got what we needed, the conversation exchanged was not sympathetic but rather accusatory; we were given a tea but also remarks made us feel like it was our issue and responsibility for eating there. Again, it wasn't your fault, but we didn't need to be schooled about what I can and can't have.
Their coffee was awesome and generally speaking, it was okay how things went. There was no "how are you doing", but a constant reiteration of " I didn't guarantee anything" and "next time, double check the ingredients yourselves" on...
Read moreThis is a cute coffee shop and probably the best one around.
The staff are really friendly and kind, they definitely make you feel like a welcome guest. They will most definitely make your visit the best possible!
The food is pretty good too, it's definitely nothing that will knock your socks off, but it's serviceable and I've been surprised a few times with how good the food was. The coffee is good too, lots of variety and there is definitely something for everyone. There are a lot of non coffee drinks there as well.
The only issue I have with this place, and it's a big one, is that the employees are not cared about. I have been here numerous times during this summer, and each time it has been over 30°C there, even reaching 34°C at one point. That is absolutely shameful to have your staff working in. The workers were sweating so much and looked Miserable and groggy from the heat. It's really a shame they're being abused as workers like this. They do everything for the business but can't even get an...
