September 28 2022.
My Dad and I were in St John’s on this date and we were famished. It was around 2:15 pm. I called to see if we could still come in for breakfast. We tried the kenmount location and were told that they were already closed.
I called the Cora on Hebron way. I spoke with a very cheerful lady who told me to come on in. I was approximately 10 minutes away and told her that we knew what we were going to order. When we arrived there were no patrons. I felt terrible for coming in so late and mentioned that circumstances made us pressed for time.
Berdena, greeted us with open arms and cheerful greetings stating that their customers are of the utmost importance and to sit down and that our teas were on the way. What an amazing lady and staff. Berdena stated that all staff agreed to stay and look after us.
Our food arrived and it was sumptuous and hot. We also thanked the chef who stayed and cooked our breakfast. These people made a difficult day much better.
We were not rushed and had an enjoyable time. Food quality and customer service amazing. While some would counter that they were doing it just for the money, I would emphatically disagree, I truly believe that they are the best of people and it confirmed to me that there are still good and kind people out there.
Thank you Beredena and Chef, you are truly a credit to your profession.
Just a little note. We are fairly new to Newfoundland and only knew the Coras on Kenmount. What I found disconcerting is that the person I spoke with at this Kenmount Coras restaurant never mentioned the Coras on Hebron way. I only found by googling all day restaurants. I would think that this should be addressed on why the man didn't tell me to head up to the other restaurant. I will now make Coras on Hebron way my favorite, cheers and thank you, you delivered far more than just food,...
Read moreWe alway eat at the Kenmount location but we were leaving town and this was the closest location to us. The food was good but instead of replacing the food I had that had the wrong sauce they just brought me out the right one to put over the wrong one. And we were dining with our little boy and next to us was a mother with her 5 children and they were so well behaved but as kids normally do, they made a little mess. I was extremely disappointed when our waitress visited the table after they had left and shouted over to one of the other employees and gestured to the mess and just shook her head and made lots of frustrated noises. Which yes it’s frustrating to have to clean up a mess but it was one adult looking after 5 children , and also to make it so obvious to the other guests dining (some with children themselves) that you disproved of it so much is just shameful and made me feel like I had to clean up extra well to avoid being talked badly about. When we paid I didn’t leave a tip which I never do but it kind of turned me from that location and our server. Will make sure to go to the kenmount location from now on as they always give us such reassurance that we’re not a burden, they’ve even went out of their way to bring over bowls of hot water to wash off our little boys pacifier when he dropped it and when he was fussy wanting for food they brought him a banana free of charge to help us...
Read moreI got the morning hot dogs and it did not have bacon like the description, it was also very plain and boring. It was not tasty I would not recommend.
I also got the poutine holly and the potato wedges were not crispy or even fully cooked it was very white and the inside was still hard. They did not add cheese curds and the hollandaise sauce with the wedges were horrible , it did not taste good.
I got the 10 star omelette and wow I was shocked at how the restaurant was able to turn an omelette into something terrible. Even a five year old could prepare better than that. Not only was there no meat. The omelet was mostly mushroom and tomatoes. I like mushrooms but this omelet turned me off. It was plain, no seasoning and very soggy. They added tomatoes and mushrooms without seasoning or cooking the water off so the omelette was a soggy mess. Not only was it disgusting to look at, it also made me want to puke.
First and last time trying this restaurant would not go back. I dont know how they can mess up breakfast like this. With the amount I paid In total $50.00 for the 3 items. The fact that I couldn’t find one item that tasted good is an abomination. I had to put the potato wedges in my air fryer, salt them before they became palatable and that was the only item that was decent. Seriously go anywhere else for breakfast. This place is...
