we’ve had two different servers in the last three times we’ve visited, and their attitudes and servitude were so drastically different. we had a south asian (i believe) male server with glasses our last time who was so nice, so polite, and so helpful and i would give him 6/5 for service! he checked with the kitchen when he wasn’t sure with something, checked up on us, made sure we felt taken care of. today and the third last time we were there, we had an older white female server who was not helpful at all. she was polite but i asked her twice if something that i had in the past could be made vegan because the menu was changed and she just said “i don’t know” with no elaboration. the second time i asked if she could ask the kitchen and she just seemed annoyed. she also said while i was ordering that something could be made without dairy “i think”, which is irresponsible when working with people with sensitivities and allergies. it took almost 10 minutes for us to get water when we arrived, and that was on her third visit to the table. the worst part was when it came time to pay; i had cash and handed her the bills. i’m used to servers saying “okay i’ll get your change” or just handing me my change, not assuming anything about any tip amounts. she took the entire amount and said “wow thank you so much!” and it worked out to be an almost 40% tip; which is not what i wanted to tip, but having that kind of reaction made it uncomfortable to speak up so i did not. the first time our situation was similar in terms of service, but servers have bad days and i give the benefit of the doubt, but with two experiences both on weekdays that were similar, it shows a pattern. would not want her as a server again. as for the food, every time we’ve ever been served potatoes there’s like 10 on the plate which is crazy because they are usually generous with other things. it was a fine meal but i don’t think i’ll seek it out...
Read moreWe went out for breakfast for my fiancé’s birthday - my second time at Cora’s, and the first for my fiancé. It was busy but we were sat fairly quickly for the crowd ~ 20 minutes. It took longer than normal to receive our food but we figured this was due to the fact that the restaurant was full, and hoped it meant food was being cooked right then and not from a warmer. I had so looked forward to the meal and we were so disappointed. Both of our meals were barely warm and I am still not sure if the sausage, bacon, or potatoes were fully cooked as I only managed a bite of each. My over easy eggs were either broken or cooked too long and thus no runny yolks. My fiancés French toast was edible and his bacon was cooked more than mine was so he finished his breakfast - mine was not edible. I explained to the server that my food was cold, and I did not think my sausages were fully cooked. He brought potatoes fresh from the grill but did not address the sausages. Upon his return I asked that the meal be removed from the bill as it was inedible. The server asked if I wanted a new order but I did not see how it would be any different. Besides my fiancé was done his meal, and I did not want to have another long wait for my meal. My fiancé summed it up when he commented that it would be the first and last time - Cora’s was off the list. I cannot explain how disappointing it is to look so forward to a meal only to leave so disappointed and...
Read moreToday was the 4th time my boyfriend and I ate in at coras. I'm writing this review from my table as I am so impressed with my server and his awesome service and amazing attitude and great sense of humor. His name is Jeff and from the time I came in i was probably one of those annoying customers because I couldn't decide what I wanted and funny enough we pointed out the "Louis the undecided" meal which I said actually i don't think I want that and he said very politely suggested that he could go get our drinks and see if by then I'd made a decision. Which I did. Lol i got "our breakfast for the club" which consists of 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes and French toast topped with bananas and caramel and toast. And a nice cold glass of coke👍 my boyfriend got his usual "coras special" 2 eggs, bacon ham, sausage ( which he traded in for more bacon lol), a pancake, potatoes and toast. With a nice glass of white milk. 😋 👍. All the food was fresh, tasty, appetizing, and warm. But that was all expected, it is coras after all. But what truly topped off the experience was our server Jeff and his funny sense of humor and how you can tell he does this every day with a smile on his face, making customers day. He certainly made the man crack a few smiles and laughs which is sorta rare. So thank you Jeff at coras on kenmount rd for starting our day off in a good mood and having us leave holding hands and laughing and not being crooked...
