My friend who is local here told me that Ethiopian Cuisine Plus has the best Ethiopian food in St. John's. He was definitely correct! Situated conveniently right at the base of Signal Hill, this cute little restaurant packs a punch when it comes to serving great food in a great atmosphere. The restaurant is cute, with plenty of Ethiopian-style decor, beautiful colours, and music playing in the background. It was clean and inviting. The menu isn't overly complex, and I enjoyed the Injera veggie combo with Lamb, and a Chicken Sambusa as an appetizer. The food came out freshly hot, and did not last long. The Injera was wonderfully light & fluffy, and the mix of dishes in the platter were so fragrant. I didn't leave feeling too full, but absolutely satisfied. It is definitely a local gem, and perfect for a meal before or after hiking around Signal Hill. I hope lots of locals and tourists keep visiting this restaurant! I have tried only a few Ethiopian restaurants in Canada, and when it comes to fantastic flavor, Ethiopian Cuisine Plus...

Thanks to the sourness which contributed to the appetite, although the portion of food was generous, we finished both plates. Besides, the service was great, the price was fair, and the atmosphere was immersive. The restaurant had many Ethiopian decorations and plays traditional music on TV. Additionally, the location is very close to the Signal Hill. It can be a great choice to have a delicious lunch and then have a walk to the...

I have to edit the above review and change 5 -- 3 stars. Over the past few months this restaurant has become inconsistent. Sometimes the food is delicious and portions are good. Other times, lackluster with small portions.
Tonight we were so excited to get our large injera buffet dinners. Our boxes had injera bread with only about 1 tbsp of each of six dishes. This was significantly less food than usual. We were left hungry and disappointed....
