Fionn MacCool's — Restaurant in St. John's

Me and a friend decided to order food for takeout this past Monday, not wanting to dine in due to the pandemic and being a high risk individual, they do not allow you to place order by phone, only inquire about existing orders, so we stopped by, dropped in and placed our order, the woman who served us took down our number, and said they would call when it was ready, they did not provide a time frame, fine. We decided to go for a drive and pick up some drinks for our meal, after driving for about a half hour, we began to feel like it's taking a little too long for our order, we had still not received a call from the restaurant. It was about 45 minutes after we placed our order that we returned to check on our order, only to find it sitting on the counter unattended, no idea how long it was there, there was no call. Our starch based items/side were Luke warm and soggy, sandwich soggy and cold, the only thing that was OK, was our chicken bites appetizer. We were extremely upset with this experience, and would not advise ordering takeout from Fionns, despite our previous in restaurant meals being great.

EDIT: The manager reached out to me and explained a situation they were put in during the time my order was placed. He was very professional, friendly, and understanding, given the circumstances. I feel that Fionns has sufficiently resolved this issue and I will be returning my review to 4 stars. Top notch...

I was glad that I had made reservations because there is absolutely no space for people waiting. We had to wait for the server to clean the table (despite the reservations ) so we ended up sitting on wet chairs and putting our things on a wet table. The drink that I asked to server to recommend, was disgusting. She replaced it. Both took far too long to get. Service was terrible. I read the reviews beforehand, and read "small portions " in many. "Small portions" is a generous statement. I had to get something to eat when I left. Not only were the portion 's small, but my steak was a huge disappointment. I usually don't complain, but the whole experience was disappointing. I told the server I wasn't happy with my meal, that I left on the plate....minus the potatoes, and she just smiled and said "I'm sorry". This is my first review I've ever written but I feel like it's not a place for dinner.....maybe if you just want to sit at the bar ( and not hear your guests) because of the extremely loud "one man band" and have a few drinks, it would be a different experience.

As well, the only way this restaurant is getting "5 stars" is the friends, and family of owners. It is the worst food, and service there is.

Also, this fake e-mail the owners/managers give you doesn't work. Not that I would ever use it. If I was given a free night with friends I wouldn't subject them to the everything horrible...

Shared a table with a party of 8 this evening &I was really disappointed in our experience. I don't usually complain about things like this, but it appeared that everybody at the table was equally as upset with our trip! After a wait time of 45 minutes (expected on a Saturday night) we sat to our table and ordered our food. Every single one of our meals were cold. All 8 of us. Two of our parties had the buffalo nachos but it wasn't what was described in the menu at all. The description says that the shredded chicken is tossed in the medium heat sauce & has peppers on top but the sauce was drizzled across the nachos on the top of the dry 3 pieces of chicken on top. The nachos were cold and soggy (from the drizzled sauce on the top) so the nachos were difficult to eat, and didn't really get eaten at all. There were no hot peppers so there were ingredients missing. Ordered chicken tacos but was served fish. Promptly I was given my correct order but they were cold? Again, I understand it's a busy Saturday night but mannnn cmon. Burgers were dry and cold. No desert because the chef frigged up the batter or something. Server seemed uninterested in service. As I was leaving there was another really vocally loud customer yelling about how terrible the restaurant was. I hope you guys work...
