Five Guys — Restaurant in St. John's

Firstly this place is not cheap whatsoever. Let's get that in the open right away.

However, once you throw down 25 dollars for a hearty meal the food itself is fantastic. I tried the bacon cheeseburger and Cajun fries with a milkshake.

After waiting many many years to try this burger spot. My expectations were very very high. Alot of reviews on YouTube like datum drops praising this burger joint up like it was tye second coming of Jesus makes a man expect alot.

My expectations were met, this place was a knockout. The staff while under clear tremendous pressure were incredibly friendly. Very organized. And kept up with orders in the first week or 2 of opening better then mcdonalds could dream to.

Not only this but for a place so busy. It was kept pretty Clean.

Let's talk about the food. The milkshake was really good, one of the best around for sure, and lots of flavors to choose. The fries were clearly hand cut, really well seasoned, and the smell from the Cajun spices were amazing. The star was of course the burger, large, hefty, and once opened oozing with cheese. I got the all in variant. The toppins were very fresh. Even the tomatoes was crunchy. And the bacon.... I have not tasted bacon like that at any fast food spot. This was some premium bacon taken from the are of his highest majestys stock by far.

Then they went and thre about 15 lbs of fries In the bag and I knew they just did things right.

5 stars. My only complaint is it is very very expensive. For a single meal it was 25 dollars. Since I also got my wife and son some to it ended up being 75 bucks for an evening supper. That's as much as a restaurant....

HOWEVER! In rare cases such as this. It was worth every penny. And every bite.

I placed my order online so I could grab and go, jump the line, as it were.

I got held up because of the road conditions after a storm, worried I was going to get a cold order of soggy fries, or that I might have put more pressure on the staff at a busy time of day, I felt pretty bad.

I arrived and the staff told me that they always wait to drop their fries for the order until the person arrives. Perfect!

I waited while they prepped my order and I was the only person in the whole restaurant initially. Two others had arrived after I did, but it was a far cry from busy.

The staff was excellent. I can't say enough good things about them. They were friendly to me, which is usually what I expect, but they also had Christmas music playing and seemed to be having a great time preparing orders and interacting with customers. Honestly, it was really great to see.

My order was perfectly accurate, my fries were crispy, hot, and well-seasoned. The burger was delicious too.

My first visit to a Five Guys outlet: the location is great and is accessible from inside the mall and outside. The location doesn't have a drive-through but it's fairly close to the parking lot. The staff I met on my visit were friendly. My order was served fairly quickly, but there weren't many customers anyway.

I ordered a standard "all-the-way" cheeseburger ("all-the-way" refers to the standard version of the fillings/toppings of the burger - you can customise it). The patties were juicy but lacked flavour. Overall, I felt like the items of the burger didn't blend very well, so everything stood out individually. The bun was flavourful but felt soggy and was falling apart.

The interiors are nice and consistent. The styling feels thematic and the music is pop, groovy and always on.
