Green Sleeves — Restaurant in St. John's

So I wanted to give one star but my wife felt it was worth of three. So here we are at two.

I was surprised to walk into a “local” pub and find it dominated by Bud product.

Side note. Last time I was on George Street 6+ years ago it wasn’t like this. It’s basically owned by Budweiser now which seems like a bit of a sell out, but I digress.

Anyways, 15 beers on tap and only 2 were local. And the pricing seemed outrageous to me: I mean $9 for a domestic beer? Come on now. I’d pay that for a local craft beer but not for a Bud Light.

Food was mediocre. My wife and I shared the Kung Pao bowl and there was very little flavour to the dish, and not a lot of veggies. Throw some salt on that dish!

Makes me wonder if they are just trying to pillage tourists that come to...

Food was great, but customer service was less than... At least at first. Made a reservation for 20 people for supper, spoke with the manager in-person days before to confirm, assured no problem. Show up and one of the staff tells us that they can only accommodate 10 to 12 and the rest will have to stand by the bar, that's their policy and that's what should have been communicated.Told us we could talk to the manager about it, but that they weren't there now and there was nothing they could do. Other customers overheard the conversation and very kindly offered to sit at the bar to finish their drinks so that we could all sit. Do not go here if your a person of color or different backgrounds they will not serve you especially the two female bartenders that was working there tonight. Went there September 30th,2022 around 1:15am ended up walking out around 1:37am and waste of 10 dollars cover charge because the two female bartenders for some reason will not serve us especially the bigger women with the glasses. Not sure because if we were the only different race there at the bar waiting but she was willing to serve 7 other customers behind us. Even the other customers was saying why are we still waiting and why she won't serve us. I honestly couldn't give them an honest answer. I will make sure other people is aware of the racism that goes on in that...
