I placed an order from Grilleopatra for pickup through UEat. I placed the order about 2 hours out from when I wanted to pickup, and made sure it was scheduled for pickup at the correct time. When I arrived at the restaurant I showed them my order, and was told it was made twice. Once when I submitted the order, and again at the scheduled time, but that the fresher of the two was sent with a delivery driver by mistake. So rather than making me a third order so it would be fresh, they insisted I took the order they had made two hours prior by mistake. When I told them that it was no longer hot or fresh, they only offered to microwave it. I insisted that I wanted it fresh, and they told me that my order was “fresh.” And so, not in a fighting mood, I took my order home.

When I got home, I threw my Mix Grill Meal in the microwave and tucked in. How was it? Pretty good. It obviously wasn’t fresh, which was most noticeable in the rice, saj bread, and chicken, but overall it was still very tasty, but even if it was fresh I’m not sure it would be 5 star tasty.

I think if you’re going to eat here, dine in. Hopefully you’ll have better customer service than I did when taking out. I’m not sure I will be ordering again however given the...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Grilleopatra, a hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of the Middle East.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. The shawarma was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Each bite was a delightful burst of flavor, wrapped in soft, fresh bread and accompanied by tangy garlic sauce .

Next, I tried the mixed grill, which was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The platter included a generous assortment of tender, juicy meats, all grilled to perfection.

For dessert, I indulged in both the tiramisu and the baklava. The tiramisu was a delightful surprise, with a unique Middle Eastern twist that made it stand out. It was creamy and rich, with just the right amount of sweetness. The baklava on the other hand was just perfect. It was the perfect end.

Overall, my experience at Grilleopatra was outstanding. The combination of excellent food, a charming atmosphere, and attentive service makes it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. I highly recommend giving it a try – you won't be...

We love Middle Eastern food, so we were super excited to try this place. Very disappointed with our first experience, though. We ordered the mixed grill plate for one and a tabouleh salad, which came close to $50. Everything was made fresh, but was really lacking those nice, delicious, tasty Middle Eastern flavors! The tabouleh was very bland and watery tasting. It was really missing that nice strong hit of fresh lemon, which is a key ingredient that makes tabouleh so yummy. The tahini sauce had a very sweet taste, almost like sugar was added...? We didnt like it at all. The garlic sauce was ok, but not as strong and tasty as we usually find it in ME restos. And we didn't love any of the three meats on the platter! Again, all very bland and the beef kabob was quite tough. There was not enough flavour, and no lemon wddges came with the platter. We had some at home so we gave everything a squeeze, which helped a bit. But overall, it was super disappointing food. Especially for the price. We were hoping we finally had a great spot for ME food in St. John's. But...

I wish I could give this place a better rating but I simply can’t! We walked in it was busy with Uber eats orders and we stood for quite a while. We had to order, pay and then sit down. I was under the impression it was a restaurant and we would be served. We ordered and it came out to 45$ for just two little wraps and a falafel platter. We waited a while for it to be made. When the food finally came out we had a laugh based on the portions and what we were served. The pickles on my plate tasted like bleach and the “salad” was brown oxidized lettuce and rotten tomato quarters. It was also served “airplane food style” in plastic trays (again something I’m not used to at a sit down restaurant) It was not worth the price we paid and we left unsatisfied and hungry. My stomach has been off since we dined at this place! When we ordered the guy must have been confused because he asked us if we wanted rice or fries. Neither one made it out when we got our food. I think he just plugged in random items and a falafel platter. I don’t think we will return anytime soon!

1. Food is tasty 2. Great location for people coming off the street during tourist season 3. Cute atmosphere and merchandise appearance Would improve: 1. Portion to price needs to be tweaked with the wraps. Hardly any veggie to fill the wrap. There was some red onion, parsley and tomatoes, tasty for sure, but not very filling. (It might just be a Newfoundland issue though cause of prices of goods being so high). And one sauce should be free per wrap. 2. Store front sign with hours would be great to have. Maybe use your windows to your advantage cause it is hard to tell there is even a restaurant there in passing. Overall, with little competition in St. John's, I hope this restaurant does well. Definitely have to stick your foot in the door to get in (pun intended with the way the double doors are with the store), hopefully they secure some loyal customers and welcome Newfoundland locals to a new cuisine. Would love to see an expanse on the menu with real authentic Egyptian food for a better dine in experience. Not wheelchair accessible to dine in.

I recently had an exceptional dining experience at this restaurant and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch food in St. John’s. Everything from the ambiance to the service was perfect. The quality and quantity of the food were truly impressive. Their beverage selection is also noteworthy, especially the Karkadeh drink—it's a must-try! We indulged in both chicken and beef Shawarma, which I can confidently say are the best in town. However, the highlight of our meal was definitely the Kabab, Kufta, and Shish Tawook. These grilled meats were perfectly seasoned and served with a choice of rice or fries, adding to the richness of the flavors. Additionally, the restaurant offers a variety of dips that complement the dishes beautifully. My family left very happy, making our dining experience unforgettable. If you’re in the mood for a delightful meal, this is the place to go.
