I placed an order from Grilleopatra for pickup through UEat. I placed the order about 2 hours out from when I wanted to pickup, and made sure it was scheduled for pickup at the correct time. When I arrived at the restaurant I showed them my order, and was told it was made twice. Once when I submitted the order, and again at the scheduled time, but that the fresher of the two was sent with a delivery driver by mistake. So rather than making me a third order so it would be fresh, they insisted I took the order they had made two hours prior by mistake. When I told them that it was no longer hot or fresh, they only offered to microwave it. I insisted that I wanted it fresh, and they told me that my order was “fresh.” And so, not in a fighting mood, I took my order home.
When I got home, I threw my Mix Grill Meal in the microwave and tucked in. How was it? Pretty good. It obviously wasn’t fresh, which was most noticeable in the rice, saj bread, and chicken, but overall it was still very tasty, but even if it was fresh I’m not sure it would be 5 star tasty.
I think if you’re going to eat here, dine in. Hopefully you’ll have better customer service than I did when taking out. I’m not sure I will be ordering again however given the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Grilleopatra, a hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of the Middle East.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. The shawarma was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Each bite was a delightful burst of flavor, wrapped in soft, fresh bread and accompanied by tangy garlic sauce .
Next, I tried the mixed grill, which was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The platter included a generous assortment of tender, juicy meats, all grilled to perfection.
For dessert, I indulged in both the tiramisu and the baklava. The tiramisu was a delightful surprise, with a unique Middle Eastern twist that made it stand out. It was creamy and rich, with just the right amount of sweetness. The baklava on the other hand was just perfect. It was the perfect end.
Overall, my experience at Grilleopatra was outstanding. The combination of excellent food, a charming atmosphere, and attentive service makes it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. I highly recommend giving it a try – you won't be...
Read moreWe love Middle Eastern food, so we were super excited to try this place. Very disappointed with our first experience, though. We ordered the mixed grill plate for one and a tabouleh salad, which came close to $50. Everything was made fresh, but was really lacking those nice, delicious, tasty Middle Eastern flavors! The tabouleh was very bland and watery tasting. It was really missing that nice strong hit of fresh lemon, which is a key ingredient that makes tabouleh so yummy. The tahini sauce had a very sweet taste, almost like sugar was added...? We didnt like it at all. The garlic sauce was ok, but not as strong and tasty as we usually find it in ME restos. And we didn't love any of the three meats on the platter! Again, all very bland and the beef kabob was quite tough. There was not enough flavour, and no lemon wddges came with the platter. We had some at home so we gave everything a squeeze, which helped a bit. But overall, it was super disappointing food. Especially for the price. We were hoping we finally had a great spot for ME food in St. John's. But...
