Harvey's was amazing! I have not been there since they left NL low these many decades ago but as I was shopping with my wife and infant daughter I was feeling the "hangries" getting the better of me and then I saw it...
FRINGS!!!! French fries AND onion rings in the same box! Not since peanut butter met jelly has there been such a pairing. This has always been my "Sophie's Choice" but this time I didn't have to choose! Why the hell have fast food scientists not figured this out sooner?
Having never darkening their door I was amazed how bright and clean everything was. TV, free wifi, spotless bathrooms. I didn't even think twice about dropping my baby on the change table, afraid of any germs or cooties.
But let me tell you about the burger. The burger was forged in flames like a samurai sword, charred and juicy. Then the toppings and sauces. So. MANY. TOPPINGS. I had guacamole. For free. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME THAT EVER HAPPENED!?! I felt like a shoplifter.
And the lovely girl behind the counter, seeing I was heavily laden with food and all by my lonesome (wife was nursing, which they were also cool with) offered to help carry my tray. I am not ashamed to say I was a little choked up.
But left not only full (which seldom happens) but happy. Genuinely happy. I sat there basking in glow of my big messy burger. So let me say... it was a...
Read moreI have to say that the food at this Harvey’s is delicious. However, the service I received this time left me feeling confused and uncomfortable.
First, I placed a mobile order through the app and went to the mobile order counter with my order page and name to pick up my food. However, the staff insisted that I show an order page with my name on it, which the app does not provide. This left me feeling quite frustrated until they finally verified my order number and gave me my food. Clearly, this issue was not my fault but a problem with the app’s display.
Second, while eating, I suspected that my burger might not have the four onion rings I requested. I asked about it again, but the manager angrily came over, opened my burger without my consent, and counted the onion rings in front of me—one, two, three, four—before walking away without putting the food back together. I admit that I may have miscounted because the onion rings were small, but opening my food without asking felt very disrespectful and made me uncomfortable.
I hope this store can improve its service attitude and handing process to ensure a better experience in the future. It would be better if the attitude...
Read moreJust picked up a couple Harvey's Junior Crispy Chicken Burgers for my son from the Torbay Road Drive thru, got them home, and when he started eating them he discovered some mold on the bun. So I called the restaurant and all they offered was to replace the burgers. What about the inconvenience of having to now cook supper for my son, deal with him being upset, and having to go back to the restaurant?? These restaurants need to realize that when they screw up a take out order, it's way more angering to the customer than screwing up an eat-in order. I understand accidents happen, but I really think they should have offered more than to just replace the two burgers that only cost a little over $5. It should be more about reimbursement for the...
